I'm putting together a trip to head out to a firearms range for a little target practice. I'll be bringing my firearms, as will one other person. And of course, as long as the range provides rentals, you can rent them.
Day: Looking like it will be Saturday, March 21st
Location: Kenosha
Group size: Will be limited pending the number of trained shooters on hand. Currently limited to 10 people total, 5 people have already confirmed, 4 of which are military trained. If you are interested and are military, police, or NRA trained, let me know so that we can increase the group size.
Ammo: We will be picking up ammunition in WI. As a guideline: 50 rounds of 9mm typically runs $10-15, $50 rounds of .45ACP typically runs $16-25.
Experience level: Beginners are welcome, I have at least one handgun with almost no recoil felt. You will be paired up with an experienced shooter.
Safety: I am a self-titled Safety Nazi, courtesy of my training as a kid by Dad. Prior to going, I will gather everyone together in my room, and go over operation of the firearms I am bringing, as well as basic safety rules. On the range, all safety regulations of mine and of the range will be followed. Be forewarned, if you violate these rules I am not afraid to tackle you, disarm you, or remove you from the range depending on the severity. Shooting is a helluva lot of fun, but guns are NOT toys. I also recommend bringing a pair of "foamies", the hearing protection you roll up and place inside your ear. Ranges typically will provide ear muffs and safety glasses if you don't have them, however do to the power of several of the weapons going, I suggest foamies be brought as well.
IL residents: Apparently your state requires you to be in possession of r a FOID card [firearms id card] in order for you to shoot. If you do not have one already, sadly you will be unable to go as it takes months to get one. Edited: Since we are going to a range in WI this no longer applies
If you're interested in going, please PM me to let me know, as well as let me know your experience level.
