I'm having the bestest birthday ever.

If only I could figure out how to make the lamb and the potatoes at the same time.

Potato crock pot recipes though are calling for...cream of mushoom soup though. To hell with that. Cream and bacon or bust.

I'm making culinary choices. What could be better?

Pick up one of those cheap crock pots and have two.

And we have a standing rule here. Does it say "Cream of Mushroom soup"? Cream of Celery will do, thanks. Anything "mushroom" does not come into my house.

I found one...

It's a temperature thing. Recipe for potatoes calls for a different temperature than the lamb and they're both 1+ hour recipes. I don't want to ruin one because the temperature's too high or too low.

Gonna make the potatoes on high in a crock pot for four hours. Cream, butter, bacon, scallion, salt, pepper and a really yummy organic cheddar.

I don't do cans of soup.

I am adapting the hell out of a recipe. Cross your fingers for me.

I have not your limitations, or your convictions. Then again, I also have not your palate. Decades of nasty sinus issues have hampered my sense of taste. I fear that many lovely dishes are too subtle for my taste buds.

I don't think it can go wrong.

Looking for a Birthday Miracle. Actually...it's hard to make all those ingredients go wrong...and it's a slow cooker. I think I'm safe from burning.

I so beg to differ. Mom made green bean casserole with cream of celery soup once. Worst crap, ever.

Since I only use cream of mushroom in green bean casserole that is the extent of my experience but I just wanted to say....not always.

*shrug* I don't do green bean casserole, so it has no bearing on the relative worth of cream of mushroom soup.

I stand at the bridge and bark "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" to any and all mushrooms. Denied.

Yeah, I'm not fond of fungus either. I just love my green bean casserole though.
