Republicans would rather spend money to kill people than keep them alive.

bullshit...you can't be from Chillicothe...this makes too much sense for someone from there...you have to be a transplant:D

I'm stunned. Just stunned. Republicans call themselves the party of smaller Government. Rly. Srsly. Hahahahah! LOL! ROTFLMAO!

and stuff.

They control enough of the senate to block its passing, and cut all this shit as negotiation.

Yes, they cut all that out and you saw the overwhelming support for the stimulus package from the Republicans. All three of them.

Gee, I didn't know the Republicans still controlled congress!

So, you're suggesting that if they did control Congress, they would be cutting less than this out of the stimulus package? That's the only way your comment would be relevant, after all.

Not at all. I'm suggesting that the Republicans do not control congress nor do they have enough votes to change anything and that would be a more relevant statement.

They have enough votes to drag their feet in the Senate and impede passage, just as they have done over the past two years since losing their majority.

And KBR was just awarded another $35.4 million dollar electrical contract in Iraq while being sued in Federal court for frying two GIs with their shoddy work. Wtf.

By the way, as of Jan. 30, Scott Rasmussen’s latest poll shows that already public support for the humongous stimulus package has dropped to 42 percent.

Damn taxpayers anyway!

First best post of this thread.

Second best post of this thread.

Of course, everyone who didn't have their heads up their asses while living life for the past six years already knew this from common sense, but sometimes you really do have to spell it out in their lingo for them to get it. Which they'll deliberately choose not to, naturally.

Now let's see how long the orthodox Lit 'Pub yahoos don't respond to this thread, since it's not stroking their eye-cocks. I hear they're actually trying to extend the now-plateaued "pork! pork! pork!" soundbite-meme for another week amongst the gullible.

They have enough votes to drag their feet in the Senate and impede passage, just as they have done over the past two years since losing their majority.

Really? Are you sure about your facts UD or are you just spouting more of your hatred for Republicans?

But it's not just Republicans who are unhappy. Some Democrats said the bill includes too many proposals that do not relate to stimulating the economy.
Sen. Ben Nelson, D-Nebraska, and Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, oppose the proposal in its current form and want to slash what they call wasteful spending from the bill, so moderate Republicans and conservative Democrats will be more likely to vote for it.

You can read the rest of the story here:

One of the cutters poured scorn on funding to study why the bees are dying and how to fix it. Yeah. That is not important. Nothing depends on that. According to him.

Are you trying to say that Senate republicans haven't spent the past two years dragging their feet on every single piece of legislation to go through there? Even those of which they overwhelmingly approve in the attempt to make the majority look as if they're "do nothing". Surely you aren't that uninformed or naive.

Fortunately the public wasn't really fooled and it cost them more seats, just a couple shy of what was needed to completely marginalize their constant umbrage and whining.

Is pollster Scott Rasmussen a right-wing hack with an agenda?

By the way, as of Jan. 30, Scott Rasmussen’s latest poll shows that already public support for the humongous stimulus package has dropped to 42 percent.
Damn taxpayers anyway!

"In Gallup, for example, support for the stimulus is steady as it can be since January 11th, even before Obama took over...This poll stands in sharp contrast with one conducted by Rasmussen less than a week ago, allegedly finding that "37% favor the legislation, 43% are opposed, and 20% are not sure...
Do you remember how Bush's approval by Rasmussen's count was usually around 38-40% while it stood in the low 30's in other polls?
Well, now Obama's approval is 59% there, compared to 65% in Gallup."

I trust Gallup:

and Harris:

I've never even heard of Rasmussen, but he seems like "a right-wing hack with an agenda."

The wingnuts here will always find something to substantiate the nonsense they want to believe.

Obama and the Democrats are throwing in Nationalizing health care records into the stimulus now; it's nothing more than a 40 year-old socialist wish list. Since 2006 the Democrats have had every means at their disposal to thwart any and all of Bush's spending, but it's simply not in their nature. Beginning in '06, they have managed to hide their own courruption, max out our children's credit cards, and now they are planning to not only max out our grandchildren's credit cards, but to also apply for their American Express so they can be done with spending limits. In return, theypromise you cheaper ATM fees, since they intend on buying up the banking system and running it as efficiently, as say, they ran Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and Sallie Mae.

Welcome to the new Venezuela. And despite your finger pointing about Republican war expenditures, Obama is not reducing them one wit, hell he's promising a whole new pile of bodies of his own in Afghanistan since youclowns have spent half a decade saying "THAT's THE RIGHT WAR, the one WE want to fight," but he is taking an axe to their infrastructure, R&D, and the missile defense we WILL need against nations like Iran and South Korea, and who knows who else now that the world sees that the likes of Osama bin Laden and the Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad can run circles around the secular, liberal Western world. For Hu Jintau and old Vladimir Putin, the next eight years should be a fixed cakewalk where there are no ways to lose.

And it's funny that when we try to point out Democrat error and corruption, all we ever here is everyone does it, so until you charge Republicans with the same thing, we're having none of it, but if you want to go get those wascawwy Wepuwiccans, we're ready for the hunt. TALLY HO! Mr. Taliban, come tally me bananas...

That's the credo of the "conservatives" without a doubt eh Cap'n? Discard whatever Rush, Coulter, Hannity, et al. doesn't tell us. If something goes against your preconceived notions then it's obviously biased..

Reality and truth it seems have a very well known liberal bias.
