I mean I ask ya, wtf makes these guys tick

Don't try to figure it out, it'll just twist your mind.

Threats mean you've really yanked someones chain. Welcome to writing, you've made it. ;) :D

Perchance, your story wouldn't be in the 'Loving Wives' cat would it? :p

No one ever sends me threats... :(

I've gotten a few nasty emails and PCs, but no direct threats of violence. I did, however, recently receive an email from someone whose email strongly suggests white supremacist and NRA ties who berated me for the poor choices I apparently made. It seems he thought my Loving Wives story (my first submission to Lit) was an autobiography.

I sent him a 'form letter' email thanking him for his comments and asking him to read more of my work. :p

No threats, but I did have one expressing disappointment in not being able to read erotica without taking the Lord's name in vain.

I have gotten many on my LW stories that have called me names and such, but no direct violence. Although there was one dipshit that called me out but the email he left didn't pan out. Or he shit in his pants when I emailed him back...haven't heard from him again.

:D

Hey, I've had some crazy shit in my e-mail feedback, but that takes the cake. It just about had to be in LW, since that's the only category which arouses so much malice. Funny, I don't like most LW stories, but then I usually don't bother reading them. That takes care of it. Clearly, the reader hasn't mastered the art of reading only those genres which are to his or her taste. Then again, someone who would threaten and then leave their e-mail address is clearly not playing with a full deck of cards.

I would seriously consider reporting the threat, though. Vicious feedback is normal, but threats of violence are a serious matter. :rose:

I had threats of violence against me and my characters in the same email. No one left their email address though. I thought it was kind of funny, threatening violence on fictional characters, but that just might be a very high level of mental disturbance. The kind that sends someone looking for an author.
