I'm coming up on 10 years as Dixon Carter Lee, and I'm wondering if it's time to kill him? Of course, I'll have to create another username if I want to go on posting here, or anywhere else, since all you people are potential stalkers. I need suggestions for a new name. Captain Panties is already taken, I think.

I don't understand why you would want to do that. I would vote no. If I am even being asked? :D

Hmmm, how to create a new ID while maintaining the essence of your board rep. I'd suggest Edward Gregor Oppenheim. Or, if that's too Deutsch-y, how about Elvis Gilly Orton--it rolls off the tongue rather nicely.

*Palinwink*

When a gallon of gas gets down to a buck consider pouring it over DCL's head.

The youtube video would go viral!!

Don't.

Because it's been a decade, I'm no longer interested in exploring the sexual questions and expressions that brought me here in 1999, and there are more interesting networking and Forum opportunities now in 2009 than there were then, and in those places I'm using my real name. I've got a very, very busy year coming up. "Dixon's" been on the road long enough. Maybe.

And I'm only half asking.

I've never cared about Rep.

But you can't hide essence. I couldn't create another username. I wouldn't even know how to try. This is why I've never had an alt.

I know what you mean. I'm only half-answering: I think you

You surprise me.

Alts are characters and posts are improv.

Not that I've ever made one.

I still say no. Changing your name won't change who you are!

Unless you have soiled the reputation of Dixon Carter Lee you should keep that nick name. Even if you come back with a new identity you will probably be recognized because of your opinions and your way of expressing them.

I've made up funny names for routines and fake names to trap trolls (all of which I cop to in advance), but that's not the same thing as an "Alt", an ongoing "other" personality and full fledged poster. Why would anyone already using a fake name typing to people he'll never meet need to do that?

perhaps it is because i have only been on literotica for a year, but here's a question...does it really matter what name you use? I mean, i picked mine because its descriptive of me, but in the end i could just use my real name..but dont. so i think if you feel you need a change then get a new name, but i guess i dont see why it matters.

I agree. It would have to be a real death.

Who's been here more than 8 years (using the same name)? Aren't you -- you know -- feeling a little done?

Anyone who uses their real name on this board is out of their fucking mind.
