I wrote a curtal sonnet, an acrostic cinquain, and a cento. And I did an illustrated piece but that isn't posted yet.

The first person who says "sestina" to me gets a pie in the face.

I like pie.
And I like terzanelles.
Oh, I read about some interesting form recenty and can't remember the name. I'll look around and see if I can find it.

I really like the kind that go through several stanzas and then end with the first stanza (or a minor variant on it).

I had started a sestina.... and put it away with a "you've got to be kidding me!"

I've played with a couple more forms (ottava rima and various sonnets), but I'm not happy with them yet.

I say go for the villanelle!

Did you really expect me to say different?

:rose:

btw, ty for your comment on my Valentine's Day story. A lot of people took it as sad... I meant for it to be taken as you did. Just shows what people think about being single on Valentine's Day... and the stressed importance of relationships in general. Most readers didn't seem to get past some form of pity for her for being single. LOL

I would say a nice ballad would be good.

Maybe a ballad on the car of your choice. Which, I assume, would be a circus clown car.

Yes, I think that's it. In fact, I suspect you were already leaning in that direction.

I love terzies. Have you joined yet? Doesn't everyone want Evie to do Survivor?

That could be any of the 'nelles. Or the bad S poem. So you get pie, too!

Straight from New Jersey to you!~

I have a sestina I started but never finished. I have a few others I wrote, but I could finish that other one....

Nah. Not yet. I started the Dactyl Dactyl, but I think I'll work on a Villenella. I'll be a V-Slut for the night. :D

I hate writing them so I should do it and try to understand why I dislike writing them so. It's gotta be a dumb block of some kind.

I'm glad I understood the story. It seemed, ultimately, very positive and self-asserting. Feminist, even. :)

We can share this one, cause we both said it. ~

Why don't you do the Glosa? I had super duper fun with mine! Truthfully, I think it is one of my all time favorite poems I have written  (today at least, next week I will hate it)

I did the NASA photo of the day today. I did not make an illustrated poem though, just submitted the poem and emailed the photo. I hope that it goes through. I have never had much luck playing the words and the photo together.

Why don't you do one of the poet's choice ones and just jazz yourself silly?

hmmmm... you could do the ballad and the clown trigger all in one....Brilliant!

My sister's first car was one of the original Subarus, which were teeny tiny. And she covered it with psychedelic dayglo daisies. I could write about that when I do the form. It totally looked like a clown car!

I submitted an illustrated clerihew a week ago...still waiting for it to show up. It seems to take really long sometimes to get the mixed media stuff posted.

And I am saving the glosa for later, like dessert. That is one of my favorite forms.

I'm up waaaay too late trying to write a decent villanelle.

Glosa = dessert. I wish I had known! I loved it too and should have waited! Nah, I am waiting for all of those freeeeeee choice poems at the end.

Ice in Texas?
2 Hour Delay?
Back 2 bed!

I stayed up till after 3am messing with the villanelle. But I submitted it; it's a done deal, thank heavens.

It is snowing madly here. We're supposed to get between 15-20 inches by tomorrow afternoon. Hello cabin fever...but at least it's not ice.

I might write more than one glosa, more than two even. It's such a fun form.

oh I miss the snow!

And I love the glosa too. I might do more. Gasp! But I really liked the cinquain.

Help me, what is happening to me?

How about a reverse acrostic sonnet?

Hi Anna!! wonderful to see you home again.

:rose:

I miss you Ange.....look for me on yahoo later

I'm peed off with the whole thing after being told what I poured my heart into is all wrong

Dear UYS, I have a policy about feedback I get. I keep and learn from what works and the rest, well I ignore it. And if you didn't get the form perfect, so what? Are you happy with your poem? Is it a good poem in your estimation? These are the important questions. :)

It's Audrey 3's cousin Alitera 1. She will eat every form poem you give her, And she's hungry. She wants more. Feed her!

I'd send you some snow if I could. We have oh lots and lots. And much much more is falling even as I type....

I need a thread like this for suggestions on what story category to tackle next-- after I finish one I am writing by request. I try to keep my fans happy.

Well, I haven't seen trigger 43 used yet ... the title sounds intriguing, but I haven't been inspired with an actual idea about it.

Oh, don't get me started on writing more poems. I need to write some stories.

I'm still amazed that anybody could write about a tin foiled covered window! yet there it is for all the see!
