Those enduring the ice storms right now can relate to what I'm saying.

Everything around here is coated with at least half an inch of ice right now. As I'm here in my warm, cozy house I can hear branches breaking and falling off of trees outside.

They're calling for at least another half inch of ice tonight, then it will change over to snow and we'll get 2-5 inches of snow on top of the ice by tomorrow afternoon.

I'm sure there will be a whole lot more of the snap, crackle and pop of trees before it's over.

Oh, joy! I sure as hell hope we don't lose power. School's already canceled for tomorrow. *sigh*

A few inches of snow on top of ice is going to make for some really snarky driving. There may be a lot of snap, crackle, and pop between fenders and bumpers as well.

We lucked out.

We've a couple of inches of snow but the ice missed us completely.

Stay safe, everyone.

For once, being a little north is a good thing. We're looking at some cloudy time followed by light snow showers but nothing nasty.

It's really getting bad here. The branches falling have now become trees falling. The news is saying to stay off of the roads in this county because trees are coming down at an unprecedented rate.

My 30 foot tall bradford pear is now on the ground. Luckily, it missed the house and the cars. I can see many other trees down within the range of my very powerful flashlight as well.

And the ice is still coming down...................

Good luck, I hate that stuff :(

I echo Sarah's thoughts. Stay safe everyone. Here in the Detroit area, we only got a couple inches of snow, we missed the ice completely.

Yah, Paducah was all over the weather news last night.

Hunker down and be careful when you finally get on the roads.

My part of Jersey got lucky. Mostly snow. I think that freezing rain is coming own now, but I am at work and it is warmer here for the moment. I will see what the rain and ice does to home when I get there tonight.

And here it is when I saw this topic header that I thought you were talking about the noises my ankles make when I walk up the stairs. :)

Stay warm, keed. Ice storms are a bitch.

We have 8 inches of snow over an inch or two of ice. No major damages to the trees that I can see and, amazingly enough, the power has stayed on. I have a feeling our snow days have evolved into a snow week.

We got about n4 to 5-inches of snow yesterday. then a half an inch or so of ice last night followed by anouther 3-4 Inches of snow on top of that this morning. I hate snow why do I still live where it snows?

Oh almost forgot.

Too everyone thats is in this strom Please stay safe and off the roads, Unless you really need to be out. Stay warm and safe.

We got lucky and kept power most of the time. It went off and on today but we think it's because they were fixing the problem for the people down the road. My sister hasn't been so lucky. Theirs went off during the night last night and still hasn't come back on.

Tomorrow will be day three of no school for kiddos. From what we know, their elementary school still didn't have any power as of about 5pm. I expect they *may* get to go back to school on Friday. City schools are back in session tomorrow but with a one hour delay.

Central NC got rain and no ice for a change :D
Sorry anyone else has that crap :(

No ice on the trees that I saw today, but my car slid a good 20 feet down an icy hill on the drive to dinner before going home after kung fu class tonight. another five feet and I would have slid dangerously into the intersection in front of me

There's about 9 inches here. I can't tell where the grass should be and where the street should be. Needless to say the city is not working to fast to get stuff done either. Oh well, being snowed in does have its benefits...plenty of time to write and plenty of time to fuck. :p kindda makes me wish it wouldnt melt away.
