I heard this on a show earlier today, and I'm still turning it over in my mind:
How beautiful is that?
I have to think he would be so proud of his country today as we look toward the inaugeration of Barack Obama.
The last public speech he made was the day before he died, and it ended:
Reverend King, you didn't get there with us, but you were still with us all the way. Thank you.
Rosa sat so Martin could walk. Martin walked so Barack could run. Barack ran so our children could fly.

Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I'm not concerned about that now. I just want to do God's will. And He's allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I've looked over. And I've seen the Promised Land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people, will get to the promised land!
Reverend King, you didn't get there with us, but you were still with us all the way. Thank you.
