I'm not much of a cook but I do it on occasion. I thought it would be fun to share favorite recipes. I've been told I'm a good cook. I just don't enjoy doing it too often. It's cold (for Florida) and rainy. I thought my favorite chicken noodle casserole would be good for tonight. If you'd like, I can put the recipe and how I modified it here. My favorite recipe site is www.allrecipes.com You can find almost anything there.

Tonights dinner will be rotisere chicken salad and loaded sweet potato. Buy the chicken, shred it over a salad with avacodo, crutons and cheeze. The sweet potato is microwaved for7 minutes, toped with brown suger. dessert will be Crown on the rocks.

To bad none of the women of Lit will be around to enjoy with me.

Sounds delicious. I was thinking the same about the Lt men ;)

I am not a very good cook, my mom did try to teach me, It did not compute....I do cook easy dishes, but not very often. Tonights dinner was a Subway salad, was yummy.

Keep it simple

Pot Roast!

Get yourself a decent chuck roast. Add potatoes, carrots, onions with some beef stock ( 1/2 cup) and a 1/4 cup of red wine. Season w/ a bay leaf, salt, pepper, thyme and rosemary. Two, two and a half hours at 300 degrees. and you eat like a king.

Serve with a tossed salad and a green bean casserole--and you look like a genius.

You could do the dinner I made tonight. I even used canned chicken and it was just as tasty. Very easy dinner.

Cooking is my secret specialty. Well, guess it's not a secret anymore. Even though I try to eat light these days, there are nights like tonight where I eat something I shouldn't. It was baked ziti and salad.

That is another easy meal. And you can cook it overnight in a crock pot to make it even easier. Just put the veggies in the next morning for a few hours. Better if you know how to make roast gravy. Mmmmm.

So, what's for dinner and when is it? ;)

Whatever you want, and whenever you can get here ;)

To keep this thread on topic, tonight's dinner will be salmon, brown rice and broccoli.
MMMMMMMMM You can be the appetizer and I'll be the dessert

Tonight's dinner sounds delicious. I love salmon. Don't worry about steering off topic or conversing here. I want all to feel welcome :)

Tonight is..

The old standby "find & fix" whatever you can find I will fix.
Speaking of fixing, time to go open the diner and see whats to fix.:D
our new motto... You may find it cheaper, but you will never find it better than at Sleeezy D's:devil:

Hard to keep warm when you are eating cold cuts because you are too tired to cook and drinking lemonade.

I am actually a pretty good cook most days, nothing fancy, but certainly tastey.
Just tired from snow and cold.

Can I be the appetizer and the midnight snack? I have a feeling we'll be hungry again later on ;)

I added some fresh ginger and Ponzu sauce to it for extra flavor. Came out really good.

It's breakfast for dinner tonight. Scrambled eggs, turkey bacon, a bagel and OJ. Wish I had some hash browns to top it off.

I made a Japanese stew (Nikujaga) one day for my daughters class when they studied Japanese culture and it's since become a favorite in my household. Fun to make too.

This is the site I used for it.

I'm not the best cook and I lack ideas so sometimes the fun stuff is the most fun. ;)

Tonight- either chicken fried steak with garlic mashed potatoes and peas, or jambalya (mis spelled but still wonderful) with homemade beer bread. I'm also thinking of fireing up the slow cooker and making 15 bean soup for the weekend.

Tonight is skinless chicken breast in orange sauce, brown rice (again), squash, and cornbread stuffing made from scratch.
