PYL/pyl is a term coined on these boards to refer to (but not limited to);

PYL; Dom/me, Top, Master/Mistress, Daddy etc (any who see themselves in a dominant role as such)

pyl; submissive, slave, pet, etc (Those that see themselves in a submissive role)

Literal translation for both is Pick Your Label
