wow, the feds are running out of options....Dropping the interest rate to almost zero (granted interbank rates have been very low for some time). Will this make a difference? The dow is headed down today (12-17-2008)...what will change?

The solution is out there, but we havent reached a crisis where people are willing to try something new that works.

In the present situation you must assume that what we have is what we want OR lots of people stand to lose lots of prestige if some unannointed person applies her solution to the problem and it succeeds. I mean, if the annointed & appointed had a clue things should be stabilizing, then improving.

Actually, the dow went up when they announced the change in interest rates. Please keep up with what's going on if you're going to start a billion threads.

wonder how much money Obama will have access to play with. I know that Miami has something like 3.2 billion worth of projects green lighted...all they need is the cash to start

As if I would ever trust your information about anything, much less anything to do with my money.

Not even fifteen minutes ago, ABC News was showing the Dow up. I suppose you only watch Faux News, though.

I'm not angry OR filled with hate. I find your rambling posts filled with republican talking points, misspellings and close to zero punctuation both amusing and pathetic at the same time, but mostly pathetic.

Have a nice day. :)

Ah yes, my grammar. So what! You unable to find fault in what I said, that you have to resort to this. Again you are so blind and missing the point, I’m not pro Republican…all I’m doing is pointing out how so many think that the democrats are the solution and this is the only way to go by having democrats run things. When in the end there really isn’t much difference in how day to day life will be. Democrats are just as greedy and dirty as republicans.

So many people feel that Clinton was a good prez, but what did he really do? One thing he did was cripple our military and intelligence. Oh the economy, well he came into office on the tails of the dot com days, the growth of day traders, and flippers. So the government coffers were overflowing.

I’m in the middle as one can be. I see strengths on both sides, but unlike many here I see the negatives on both sides. However, since no one is bashing bush, we all know that Bush does not need any help in this category.

Why can’t one talk about politics and learn? But most here…if I don’t agree with your pov then watch out. Are you guys so simple?

I stopped watching the ever-fluctuating DOW a few weeks ago. We're on the verge of Great Depression, Part Deux, and I don't need any further news reports to tell me that. The jobs are vanishing, people are being thrown into the streets, deflation is rampant and I see no good news in the picture. It's like watching a train wreck. I know it's about to derail, but I don't have to watch it. I'll hear it soon enough when the train comes crashing into my own front door.

Jesus, you are so transparent! You start EVERY one of you posts with "I’m not pro Republican…,"then come the big "all I’m doing is pointing out" shit about all of the terrible things that Democrats have done over they last 1,000 years.

I DO like your reoccurring rants about people using jets bigger than YOU think they should, though. Your constant distortions and outright bullshit on that subject are quite amusing.

Sorry for the delay had a closing on a foreclosed home. Sorry that you feel this way..talk about the blind leading blind…

I konw it's not directly related, but

I noticed my mortgage went up pretty quickly with the fed rate increase, but it sure ain't falling.

I need to make a call...I'll get back to you on it...

We could go the Conservative way and just let the market find its own level without any help. ;)

Maybe because the clasp on my black cummerbund has snapped and I have to go out and find another one before Saturday?

Bummer.

I would share, but I don't suppose my concert black dress would suit you?

Maybe if I didn't have to be out front singing a tenor solo . . . (If I could bury myself in the chorus, I'd make do with the vest I have--and prefer--and ignore the "no vests" rule.)

To each director their own.

Oh -

All the ladies swoon when the tenor sings . . .

But the bass takes them home.

;)

Good luck on your solo. :)

The only worry about having the markets correct things…what type of blood bath will we have....first, what type of shape is the economy really in? The next two big bomb shells are coming, xmass sales and a lot of adjustable mortgages (which would fuel a lot more foreclosures and I believe that is why the feds are dropped rates and some of the other actions, trying to help people keep his or her home.

On the other side, I think that GM must go into bankruptcy if they have any change of making it…but with the current management and the lack of comprise from the UAW there is no way GM can make it. The only reason to keep them around is the fact that over 1.5 million American’s have lost their jobs this year.

Jumping back to the other side, if we bail out GM then why not Motorola? We’re not really in the stock market right now but do own some stocks that we purchase back in the 90’s, but I believe that most tech companies have a strong balance sheet.

Not to worry if you're a Conservative. The market will adjust to a proper equilibrium. No intervention at all by that nasty government. Everything will be hunky dory.
