Edited to add: Nimoy's in it, apparently. I'll dig out the SFX interview they did with the "New" Spock

Will we get to see Kirk cheat the no-win test on his way to Captaincy? Stay tuned...
Agreed. I know some people like the "new Trek" movies, but I've found them boring, tedious, badly written and very badly directed. And let's not even go into the tv shows.i will care when it comes and it turns out to be good. i don't trust the bastards anymore.

This movie has one advantage. It is "classic" Trek and if they stay true to that universe and those characters they'll have what the majority of the newer Treks always lacked: a sense of fun and heart--and hope for the damn future rather than bleak boring moralizing futures.
The trailer looks good, like old Star Trek on crack, but they've lost my trust. I'll probably still see it because my husband will want to go, but they'll only get me once if they're still on the old, badly written ride instead of a real roller coaster.
I still, and always will, like Babylon 5 over Star Trek.

but so did some of the actors on several star trek series.ds9 for example. not the best collection of actors in the world.
Alexander Siddig may well have been the only reason I ever watched that show.
He's becoming like Alfred Molino in how many nationalities he plays. He's one of those "sufficiently brown" actors.
