Am I okay to post a story with a bit of swearing?!

Hi Guys,

This is the first time I've ever submitted a story online (it's just processing), and the sort of stories I like to read are quite punchy and hard-core with regards to using certain, I guess, 'crude' descriptive words and the odd F-word. After writing it, I posted it on Literotica and then read a few of the other stories in that catagory (couples) to find they were a lot softer and more erotic than this... does this mean that stories that are a bit more... you know... brash... are okay on this site? Or not? Because if not, I'll pull it. I'll be honest, I usually visit another site that's really rude but didn't want to post on there because I don't like the amount of REALLY out-there things on there. This seems like more of a respectable joint, so I'm switching websites as of today. But I'm new to it, is what I'm saying.

I'm nervous that my story is more porn and less erotica... any thoughts from established readers/writers on this site about whether it sounds like this is the right place for a story like this? It's not really bad; just about two friends' fantasies about each other, but it's just got a fair few really rude words in it.

I'd appreciate any feedback.

Thanks guys.

That's two different questions, really.

No problem with the swear words on Literotica.

Bad comments for posting it to selected categories, yes.

Shit, yeah ;)

Some categories are "softer" than others, but as long as it's within the posting rules (no under 18s, no bestiality, no graphically violent rape) you're pretty sweet.

He, he, he; there's none of that sheeet going on in this mind! Just a few little fantasies that are harmless, but with the language of a British bird!!!

Well fuck shit ass cunt twat damn. Of course you are allowed to curse. You might get some criticism telling you that you are a little more hardcore than that section usually has, but it is hardly against any rules.

Lol! What section do you think would be more fitting? I know you haven't read it or anything, but it sort of gets straight to the point in quite a frank way.

Welcome to Literotica and the AH in particular, New Girl. In most categories, you can use any descriptive words you like. As Starkers says, some subjects are not aloowed but, within those limits, you can say any fucking thing you want. :D

Generally speaking, Romance stories tend to cut down the explicit wording, but nowhere else. ;)

Abso-fucking-lutely okay. :D

What she said.

Hi guys,

Thank you for replying so quickly! What do you mean about selected categories?

What they mean is that some categories are going to draw more negative comments. Loving Wives is a shark pool with some blood thrown in for example. I've found Nonconsent/Reluctance draws a fair bit of negative comment as well.

For language, I'd be careful about putting a story with really raw language in Romance. People there usually want something a little softer there.

Welcome to the AH.

Smashing! You've all eased my mind. I just feel a little nervous because I've never even really been on a forum, never mind posted a usually totally secret and lusty story online for anyone in the world to view and comment on. It's quite nerve-wracking, isn't it?! But, I don't know, there's something I like about other people being able to read it, but secretly. I wouldn't like anyone I know to read it... especially the person it's sort of about, lol!!!!

When it posts, add a link in your signature, okay?

I don't know if will even get any troubles for posting it where you did. I was speaking hypothetically. But if I were worried about it I would put it into erotic couplings. That appears to be the most general smut filled section. sort of a one-size fits all category if you don't put any specific kinks into it.

And as others have said, hello and welcome to the AH. Drop your drawers and ignore the wars of words ;)

Welcome to the AH, New Girl.

The buffet is free. Which is a roundabout way of advising you to avoid the sashimi.

Okay, great. Well, it's in erotic couplings so it should be okay in that case! Thanks for all your help and I'll add a link to my signiture once I figure out what it means and how to do it. I can find that information out myself though so don't worry about it... I really am a virgin at this kind of thing.

Thanks all for popping my Lirotica cherry!

Feel free to visit the rest of the AH and post in as many other topics as you wish. Treat it like a cool swimming pool and just jump right in :D

If you want to take off all your clothing before jumping in, nobody will object to that either. :)

Welcome to the AH, girlie. :rose:

I wouldn't worry about the swearing too much. Every story I've submitted is a learning experience in and of itself. If you get negative comments, well, you'll know better next time.
