Q:Editing an existing story

Hi everyone,

After regularily reading stories on Lit, I decided to add my contribution. Not being a native english speaker (I'm french) and furthermore, having no experience whatsoever at writing stories, I submitted my first work and to my surprise, it was approved.

I certainly did not expect 7000+ views, and I was even more surprised by the encouraging comments made on it and the ratings. Even got an red [H] besides the story for a moment. Yay! But 66.6% of the comments (well, i only got 3 in total...) asked for a grammar check.

So I'd like to know if it's ok to contact an editor after the story has been published in order to increase its grammatical quality. I feel I owe it to the ppl that took the time to rate and comment it.

It's always more than OK to improve your stories any way you can. After you've made whatever changes you choose, you can resubmit the story in amended form, without losing the views, the votes or the H compiled by the original version. It's a quick and easy process.

Normally, I'd volunteer to check the grammar and punctuation but I'm buried under a ton of work at the moment and I don't know how long it would be before I could get on your story. Happily, there are many good editors here, and one of them will probably give you a shout shortly.

Thanks for the replies. AchtungNight, I already received a PM and started the editing process (at least the story is sent).
