How do I turn a story 'on'??

In the profile I keep trying to have my work displayed in the hope that an editor will like it. I keep getting a message that at least one story needs to be 'on' in order for my settings to be saved. I don't get it! I have both settings on for comment and voting.....
Can anyone help?
Thanx Lipz

Ok, seriously. I don't really know what you mean. I'm looking at your page, and there are stories displayed there. Do you mean you're trying to put a link in your profile to your page? Also, are you looking for a volunteer editor?

thanx for the reply

So if I'm listed and available then it's ok! I just want to be available for an editor that needs something written.
Did you read my stories?
I'm sure that my work would benefit from criticism: from an editor or a fan

Say what?

Like TK, I don't have the foggiest idea what you're asking for. You want a story turned on in the hope that an editor might like it?

You want to be available for an editor that needs something written? Sorry, that makes no sense at all. Why would an editor want something written??

Um, it doesn't work that way, I'm afraid. There aren't editors trawling through the submissions looking for people to help. But if you'd like an editor, your best bet is to put a request in the Editor's Forum with details of the sort of story you write, including the category, number of words and what sort of help you require, for example, whether you need help with spelling/punctuation/grammar, or whether you need help with flow/pacing/plot.

Alternatively, if it's just feedback you're after, post in the Story Feedback forum, include a link to your stories and ask for feedback. Simple :)

Hope this helps.

I think he/she means "editors" as in, people who publish or collect stories to be published, not the volunteer editors or even the site editors.

At least I think it makes more sense if that's the case.

Ah yes - that does make more sense, thanks :)

Has anyone ever actually had that happen then?

In my experience, it's rare, but it does happen, and most of those rare offers are quite shady, but there is the very occasional legitimate one.

Others who have more stories out there or are better writers might have made different experiences, but that's mine.

Not sure, but the poster might be refering to the writers.literotica.com thing you can access from your member page. It says it's a way for offering your services to publishers, but I've never used it and don't know if/how it works.

On the sign-up page for writers.literotica.com, there is a link to select/tag stories that are in your stories list on your members.literotica page to show on your authors.literotica page.

You must tag at least one of the stories through writers.literotica from the list on members.literotica

at the bottom of the Writers options page:

If you have chosen to be listed on the Writers.Literotica.com website, please make sure that you have completed your listing profile and chosen which sample works you would like listed with your profile. Your profile will not show up on the site until you have completed both of these steps:
- Edit listing profile - view or edit your Writers.Literotica.com listing profile.
- Choose sample works - pick your submissions that you would like included.

There are links under both highlighted labels -- you want the bottom one which I highlighted in red.

Thanx for your input

It was fairly useless except for the old cranky dude......sorry I asked, I'll know better next time....ciao..........

I asked the question, got turds in reply

Wow, well fuck you too. Sorry I helped, I'll know better next time.....FieryJen

in the future i'll post my stories and curtail my discourse wicha'all

I'm not exactly sure which part of my response you found so terrible. I thought I understood what you meant and shared that, in an effort to help you get the reply you were looking for. Of course, I didn't realize that I was dealing with a bratty child.

Sticking to posting your stories seems like a surprisingly excellent idea on your part and I'm thrilled to hear I won't be seeing you around. Bye now.

Maybe in future, if you want our help, it would be gladly given if we understood what you were asking.

I read your initial post several times, and finally gave up, because I had absolutely no idea what you were asking.

Some of us tried to help, with suggestions, and all we got for our efforts was childish abuse.

I don't ususally get involved in this kind of thing, but I'm getting very fed up with the all too-frequent abusive posts from new members who feel it's clever to spew vile insults 2 or 3 posts into their arrival.

Grow up.

All are welcome her, but we are far more receptive to a clearly phrased question that we can answer. Or not.

Couldn't agree more. I'm sorry if my response came across as offensive in any way, but I was genuinely confused by the question. And if 'an editor' does happen to come across your work and like it, I do hope you'll remember to be more polite to him/her. You won't get terribly far in the writing business if you keep the attitude you currently have.

Good luck

His "stories" are probably going to be as confusing as his question, if that's the best he can do. Probably not even old enough to be here.
