Does anyone chat online?

I know that the yahoo chats and the MSN chats were closed down.

Oh, you mean like group chat?

I was going to say I love google chat, but I don't know about a group aspect.
 
well, I just attempted logging in to lit chat, for some reason I can see usernames on the index and the rooms too but I don't see any conversations and as soon as I try to communicate it's over. I guess lit chat isn't working ... or at least it's not for me.

Lit chat never, ever works. I'm convinced it's a myth.
 
I used to use Yahoo, but I find for group settings it is not the best out there. It can be difficult to hear everyone, etc.

In game, I've had experience using Ventrilo, which is pretty good. Unfortunately not free, although pretty cheap from what I recall.

ETA: If you happen to play World of Warcraft, the ingame chat isn't bad. :D

I don't even single chat much any more. Most of the people I chatted with have disappeared.

I actually was able to carry on a couple chats on Lit Chat this past winter, but it did tend to gorp out unexpectedly--Java problem? who knows?--and it just left a lot to be desired.

I used to do IRC years ago when I used to a lot of webcamming, too, but I haven't done it for a long time. I used a client called mIRC but I just saw that there was an IRC client that you can load into Firefox.
 
I would love a place to group chat, but I've stopped using AOL since it's no better than the GB. I got a message from Yahoo a while back saying that since my profile was designated as adult, that it would be erased. That was weird because I figured if I let people know i was an adult, I wouldn't run into teens online. But I guess the predators ruined it for everyone. Any news on whether lit chat will suceed?
 
I used to chat on AOL but haven't done it in several years. Since then I haven't really done any chatting at all, even on MSN, AIM or anything like that.
 
I used to chat on Yahoo, but it's been a couple years. I just went in to see if it really had been shut down, as Lizzy said. Big mistake. I'm getting IM's out the yingyang, and I was in the room for all of 10 seconds. :rolleyes:
 
I turned off Trillian when I got into a bad spot with an ex friend a couple months ago, and haven't turned it on since. I used to use mIRC for chatting with gaming communities, but they are all dying out so I don't go there anymore either.

I'm pretty much chat free at the moment.
