Not content with attacking Obama, McCain & Palin are now attacking one another. It's like watching Godzilla v. Mothra -- you don't care who wins, as long as one is dead when it's over.

(CNN) -- With 10 days until Election Day, long-brewing tensions between GOP vice presidential candidate Gov. Sarah Palin and key aides to Sen. John McCain have become so intense, they are spilling out in public, sources say.

Several McCain advisers have suggested to CNN that they have become increasingly frustrated with what one aide described as Palin "going rogue."

A Palin associate, however, said the candidate is simply trying to "bust free" of what she believes was a damaging and mismanaged roll-out.

McCain sources say Palin has gone off-message several times, and they privately wonder whether the incidents were deliberate. They cited an instance in which she labeled robocalls -- recorded messages often used to attack a candidate's opponent -- "irritating" even as the campaign defended their use. Also, they pointed to her telling reporters she disagreed with the campaign's decision to pull out of Michigan.

A second McCain source says she appears to be looking out for herself more than the McCain campaign.

"She is a diva. She takes no advice from anyone," said this McCain adviser. "She does not have any relationships of trust with any of us, her family or anyone else.

"Also, she is playing for her own future and sees herself as the next leader of the party. Remember: Divas trust only unto themselves, as they see themselves as the beginning and end of all wisdom."

A Palin associate defended her, saying that she is "not good at process questions" and that her comments on Michigan and the robocalls were answers to process questions.

Yeah, I just posted this to the Sarah Palin thread.

I think it's absolutely delightful.

:D

I'm feeling more and more optimistic about this election all the time. Now if we can just guarantee that everyone who votes 'yes' on prop 8 is struck by lightning . . .

I only noticed your post after I posted this. This is beyond what Obama could have even dared hope for. It seems like the Republicans are imploding. They're also breaking Reagan's 11th Commandment -- good for them!

Either way the results wont be pleasant.

It just dawned on me that Obama has likely recruited Bill & Hillary to serve in his Cabinet.

My prediction: Bill for UN Ambassador, Hillary for Attorney General.

Barney Frank is running the streets in his Rainbow Underoos giddy that the Dems will cut the military budget 25%.

This is actually a good thing for No on Prop 8. Many of the right wing religious fundies who would have gone to vote if it were going to be close on the popular vote, are now going to stay home because they not only KNOW that they will lose the Electoral College vote, but the common vote, as well. What we NEED to do is generate more / more effective advertising to offset the Yes on Prop 8 blatant lies, innuendos and misinformation. (Amy)

I'm not so convinced about your predictions about the Clintons. If she was running alongside Obama instead of Biden this thread would have been about her rather than Palin.

I think that if Obama becomes prez, hillary will become VP at some point. after bush no one can trust the Rep., and Obama will easily earn two terms. What about Biden disappearing for a week, what was that about?

Equality California has been trying! http://www.eqca.org/site/pp.asp?c=9oINKWMCF&b=35974

There is also an organization called Let California Ring, which I posted earlier, but no harm linking it again. If you live in California you've probably seen at least one of their ads: http://www.letcaliforniaring.org/site/c.ltJTJ6MQIuE/b.3411527/apps/nl/newsletter2.asp

Can we all say it together? "Hello! You're only realizing that now?"

I just don't understand how people can be so blind. how can being G&L be a personal choice? What I do think is that the way G&L were representation in the media was wrong as the media focused on high profile couples living in Hollywood. The traditional couple living in America has a divorce rate of 65%? And in Hollywood marriages are measured in months? So I think that before Ellen, high profile G&L couples did a lot of damage to the movement. I’m all for equal rights, after all if you love someone and want to build a life/family/future with and ready to commit to….isn’t that what life is about?

I truely honor those who are doing everything in their power. The problem is that it is difficult to inform people of the truth about gay marriage when the Yes on Prop 8 supporters keep throwing up straw dogs. They bring up things such as education (which Prop 8 doesn't address at all) and child welfare (which Prop 8 doesn't address at all). A tremendous amount of effort and monies has been invested in trying to counter this misleading propaganda.

Additionally, their television ads, print ads & flyers and, most especially, their door to door campaign of lies is very difficult to combat with out an equal effort. The fact of the matter is that the YESs are out spending the NOs 3 to 1. What is needed right now is more money to attempt to match their ad campaign. (Amy)

The Clintons don't like Obama. He ruined their attempt to a third and fourth term and since he is a smart man he will find a way to remove them from future consideration. The traditional way is to appoint the most annoying member of your own party to the Supreme Court, a la' Earl Warren. Hill will be 'awarded' Ruth Bader Ginsberg's seat and effectively pushed into political oblivion because no one turns down a seat on the Court. And Bill will fade away with her, playing golf and general bubba-ing.

I don't think that will happen, as Hillary has stated that she has zero interest in being on the Supreme Court. In fact I think, less than zero. She wants to be where the action is, and is much too smart (I think) to accept, knowing the purpose behind the appointment.

She could take a Cabinet post, but it would have to be one she wants. She will most likely stay in the Senate, where she can stay on and on. Although she feigns disinterest in Senate Majority Leader... I'm betting she goes after it for all she is worth.

Governor of New York followed by another go at the presidency, I think.

Has Mothra won? Unlike Godzilla, Mothra's got a theme song. Maybe if Palin or McCain were to get the Peanuts to sing for them? Pa-linnnn! Mc-Cainnnn....

I can't say I'm surprised by this development. Palin seems an expert at jumping and abandoning ship depending on what she feels is best for her. Looking at her record and her political past, even I can tell that seems to be her M.O.

But shouldn't she wait till the election to see if this ship has sunk?

I think they're just rearranging deck chairs on The Titanic at this point. I heard a clip on the radio tonight of McCain and he said "We've got 'em right where we want 'em. I like being the underdog and we're going to win." But the tone of his voice was hollow -- like he didn't believe it any more than I did. I actually felt bad for the guy. But that has passed, like yesterday's chili.

We'll know soon who Obama's Cabinet is. But dont get too confident about an Obama election party just yet. The Undecideds still number about 11%-12%

I watched a political program today. The last time the Democrats controlled Washington was 1977 after Carter was elected. The Dems had a stranglehold on things. I recall pundits back then saying the GOP was extinct forever.

But Carter was a total fuck-tard, fought with the Congress, became a butt-boy for the Iranians, interest rates went to 20%, and we had gasoline lines.

In 1980 Reagan kicked Carter's ass.

I predict the same for Obama.

The polls are all over the place numbers-wise. One of them, by IBD-TIPP, has Obama ahead by only 1%, but one of their questions was "Are we ready for Socialism?' so it may be skewed a bit. :D
