We all need a time out. It all needs to stop. We are all missing the point of having the luxury of this site.

I made a post on his thread. I tried my best to talk some sense to him. Hopefully, he will mend his evil ways. Hopefully, those who have treated him just as bad as he has treated others will give him a second chance.

Am I the only one who thinks this review is wrong and not funny?

For someone who is one course shy of their bachelor's degree in English, especially majoring in Creative Writing, have you never been in a writer's workshop? We don't act like this in a writer's workshop. We encourage writers and writing. We don't bash other writers. We don't belittle and mocked what they have written.

Well, I have a degree in English, too. Northeastern University required their English majors to take only 5 writing courses to satisfy their English degree. I took 32 writing course, all the writing courses they had, except for business and technical writing.

Yeah, I realize that Scouries has written some stuff, mean stuff, most of which was before my time here. Yet, he is a fellow writer and deserves the respect of those who want the same thing. We are all here because we not only love to write but also because we must write.

Where else are we amateur writers to go to post our stories?

I've been deemed a basher by those emotionally disturbed who cannot see themselves as the bashers. I've bashed them in defense of their bashing me. Yet, all of this is so wrong.

I'm just here to write stories. Just as I love to write, as you do, as we all do, I know that I am not the next greatest thing to writing. I'm having fun. I'm improving my craft. I'm writing stories. Wow!

For you to hold up a mirror, for anyone to give a 1 bomb to another writer, as PrincessErin did to my latest story this morning, is so terrible that they should be banned from this site. Who the Hell are you to do that? How dare you?

This is the not spirit that we want to encourage. We should embrace one another, even Scouries, as he is here for the same reason that we are. Now, after embracing Scouries, after accepting him as one of our own, if he does not come around and change his ways and conform to what the spirit of this web site is and should be, then we should all shun him, his work, and his thread. If he fails to act appropriate to what we all want from this site, then we should have nothing else to do with him.

Only, we shouldn't bash him. We shouldn't give his stories 1 bombs. Certainly, we shouldn't ridicule the hard work he has put out to write his stories.

Just as I would not bash your stories or anyone's stories here, I don't want my stories bashed, by of all people, my fellow writers.

We all should have a problem. Yeah, I know, I've written this many times before. I feed the homeless once a week. Big deal.

Yet, I feel for these people. They have absolutely nothing. They don't even have food. Can you imagine what it is like to be on the streets and to be so hungry that you no longer want to eat and to no longer possess the energy to pick up a fork to feed yourself should someone take pity on your and give you some food?

I get my stories from people. I'm a very sensitive guy. I thought this site was the greatest thing that I happened upon. Only, as soon as I joined, as soon as I started posting stories, I was attacked. I wasn't accepted as one of the "in" crowd. Well, to be honest, after seeing this demonstration and reading everyone patting killermuffin on the back, I'm glad that I'm not accepted as one of you.

I don't know Scouries from a hole in the wall. I only posted to his thread because it was fun. Then, every time I post, six or seven or more of you attack me.

You all need to rethink what you want out of this site. Surely, I don't want to fight with people day in and day out. I want a site where we all, as writers, want to write and grow. I want a site where it is a pleasure to open knowing that I'll receive some words of encouragement. Yeah, sure, they'll always be bashing and 1 bombs, but I expect that from some emotionally disturbed readers and not from fellow writers.

I know that I'll receive as much shit for this post as all of my other posts and the same suspects will make themselves known, as soon as I post this.

This thread defeats everything that I had hoped to get from this site and I am saddened by this mean demonstration from such a talented writer. I expected better from you and from someone who is about to experience something very special in her life, receiving a bachelor's degree in English. Please put the honor to good use by not abusing it.

Now, for all those who will certainly bash my post, I don't intend to respond to you. I've wasted too much of my time already on your foolishness. You are here for the wrong reasons and I won't be party to your insanity any more.

Then, you write your story the best you can and it is torn to shreds before your eyes. I'd never do that to someone. If you don't like the writer, if you have nothing good to write, pass it by and read a story that you like.

So, Scouries has proclaimed that this is the number one story? Who care? Let him. You have the right to believe otherwise, just as he has the right to write that his story is the best.

I never understood why so many writers here read his thread? If they don't like the man, ignore him.

There are too many writers here who aren't professional writers and who don't have thick skins. I've been accused of having a thin skin, but I can assure you that I still wouldn't be here pumping out stories if I took many of these mean, nasty, and moronic comments to heart.

Still, there are those who have never experienced a writer's workshop or who have never been critique by a professor with a Ph D. in literature. I have. Maybe, you have, too.

Only, it is wrong to abuse this site, to shit all over this site, when it is probably the best site for writers to practice their craft.

And you never know which you'll get. On top of that "risk", to come out and declare yourself the top of the heap, you're specifically inviting even more criticism. If you're going to put your work out for public consumption, whether it's free online or in print, you need a thick skin. If you don't have one then grow one. (Just don't have too thick a skull or constructive criticism won't make it through, either.)

Personally, I get a kick out of bad criticism. (Especially Lit trolls!) My skin is thick and I'm comfortable enough in my abilities to measure the validity of any criticism and accept or reject it. A record company exec told me that we can't write songs. At the exact moment he said that my band was on the Grammy ballot for... <drumroll>... our songwriting. I took it for it was, but my bass player was crushed and he quit music completely.

Submission = fair game.

Again, I agree with all that you have written. The difference is between the reader and the writer.

We, as writers on Literotica, a web site who does not pay us to write, should, at the very least, be treated courteously from our fellow writers.

I expect to be bashed by God knows who reads these stories. I expect to receive bizarre comments. I expect that someone who loves golden showers takes exception to my story that does not have anything about that in it.

Yet, the people who write here and who have developed a relationship with one another, good or bad or indifferent, should come together if only because we all share the same passion.

Stories are arbitrary. What you like I may think is terrible and not waste my time reading. Yet, as a writer who respect what someone else has written, I'll never write, you're story sucked and you do, too.

Sure, there will be those mentally disturbed people who will post a list of mean and nasty that I wrote, all taken out of context and all posted in defense of their bashing me.

Still, I stand by my belief, that as fellow writers, we should all treat one another with the respect that we hope to receive in return. Yes, Scouries is guilty of writing mean things, but he's one man against an army of those who have written mean things about him.

It's time we showed an appreciation for this site. It's time we put all the pettiness aside and tried helping one another to improve. It's time we all worked to make this a better place.

Now, what they do is 1 bomb me and then write a glowing comment, which I delete, because their second vote doesn't count.

All I'm saying is that if we all worked together and weeded out those who only want to bash the work of others, this would be a better place.

Wouldn't you love it if everyone was as excited as you are, Wendy, when you published another book? Wouldn't you be so excited that you couldn't wait to tell everyone. Sure, you have that relationship with some of the regulars here, but you should have that with most of the people who write here.

Scouries Sores the Nude Day Contest

At the end of the contest the boss selected his own winners. Here they are as reported so long ago. It would be hard to describe the following as “trashing every single one of them along with the authors” wouldn’t it. And surprise, surprise, the boss gave danikat an honorable mention. Boy, was he mean!

It was simply continuously humorous and the writers’ ability turned what could have seemed silly or stupid into a great read. You covered everyone here- gay men, lesbians, straights, nudists, exhibitionists, voyeurs, horses; you gave us celebrities, a hint of incest, a heroine and a hero…

2 - Unsung Muse for Naked I. So completely different from everything else written here. A professionalism that makes me think that maybe you shouldn’t be allowed in the contest – you’re simply too good. Smoking hot! Tres sexy! I’m afraid that now, every time one of those afternoon storms catches me unprepared on Ocean Drive or Lincoln Road, I’ll look around, wondering which rain soaked woman is our famous author.

3 – kbate for Capital City Art Exhibition. I liked this story an awful lot when I first read it but only gave it a 3 (lowered from 3.95) mainly because of the lesbian theme. Celeste (see, I told you I’d get your name in hon), a friend of mine, read it and loved it, insisting the sex was way hot. I read it again and completely agreed. Read it a third time while deciding placings – still found it great. It’s funny and erotic! Intelligent. Modern. Funny. Dead on theme. Liked the way you spread your different erotic scenes throughout the story. The shaving scene, the police stop, the bar scene, you even threw in a sister/sister act – never knew you girls had it so good. A more than enjoyable read.

4 – scouries for Becky’s South Beach Spring Break No self-promoting author would omit to put one of his own stories on a winners list, so here is mine. While not actually entered in the ‘official competition’, it does have more public nudism in it than 90% of the entries, and was released on Literotica during June. Wasn’t rated very highly (and did receive a couple of very cheap shots from unnamed critics), but has received 294 votes. Sexy and fun – read it. WARNING: A very observant neonlyte pointed out in one of his pithy posts that the word ‘nigger’ is used in this story. If you believe, like he does, that this word should never be uttered by a character in any story, please don’t read it.

5 – Rassendyll for Naked and Public. Perhaps not everyone’s choice but I loved it. I keep wanting to move it higher up this list. Hilarious. The English at their best. I’ve already filmed the Brit-com in my head. Read it!!

6 – FunDareGuy for A Day at the Beach. When I first read this I didn’t know it was in the contest (it hadn’t appeared on the Nude Day Contest list right away) but loved it. Doesn’t have the sex I’d normally require and perhaps is too undemanding for the purists. It wins a prize though simply because I thoroughly enjoyed it.

7 - gauchecritic for Carol and Denny’s Exchange I didn’t have this story among my prize winners until literally minutes ago. When I looked down my list of winners just before submitting it I found I didn’t want to leave this one off. I had to drop another good story but thems the breaks. This one deserves an S.

8 – Totzman for Nude Secretaries Day This story, along with ‘Daphne’ and ‘kbate’s’, was the kind of story I was hoping the nude day theme would produce. Funny, light, interesting, sexy. Now exactly who are you anyway?
