I have an old painting, and I'm trying to find out if it's worth anything before I throw it out. I can't see any signature or numbers on it to help me identify it.

Anybody got any ideas, short of taking it to an antiques dealer?

Do you like it?
Keep it. (I guess not as you were planing on "throwing it out")

Otherwise, One would need much more info. A museum and/or university might help, but sounds like you wish to avoid taking it somewhere.

If you have a digital cam.. you could post it.

She had a Poppy period back then.

I am thinking you can ditch the painting. It is also likely that it is not even a painting, but a textured print. I know you mentioned on te other terad that you could see and feel the brush strokes.

Just donate it to Salvation Army or Good Will or whoever you have.
And don't look back.
