It's 6 months out until the Chicago Litogether and 6 months removed from the previous event. Here's a thread for those attending, possibly attending, and for those who just want to interact with the people who are discussing this topic.

There will be one or two official threads being posted as the occasion nears with information and specifics about the event.

I thought I'd start a new thread to put the last event behind us and to look forward to the next gathering...

Let's have fun with this... Let the anticipation for the 2009 Litogether begin.....

I'll actually be in Chicago this weekend.... I love that city....

Well, as I've said, I'm planning to be there in all my naughtiness. Assuming I don't get all insecure before hand.

throw any insecurities out the door.... I know any ego I have will be tossed aside too.... I'm positive that everyone will make you feel welcome.... And please don't hesitate to bring your naughtiness... Your ideas, your flirtations, and your out going nature that I know is inside you...

Oh I know everyone will make me feel welcome. Everyone did at the last one, even people I didn't know from the boards!

The insecurity part only comes into play with the naughtiness; I'm totally comfortable until I start thinking about getting sexual, and then my whole freakout is just about my weight. If I can forget that, though, I'll be a really good time. :)

Oh hallelujah! Another kilt in the mix. :D

However, I don't do broadswords. Might cobble a quarterstaff together but how would I get it on the plane?

TSA will probably let you walk right through with a broadsword. Now if you have an uber dangerous pair of fingernail clippers that a whole different story. :D

It's an amazing city..... never been to Boston.... Love to visit sometime....

There are lots of things to like about Boston, too. Still, a free zoo in the middle of the city isn't one of them; I love the Lincoln Park Zoo.

We're planning to be there this year. :)

Sweet! :)

I'm looking forward to finally meeting the two of you.

I'm planning on attending, with or without husband, I don't know that part yet. But since I live so much closer to Chicago this year it won't take quite as much planning either way.

By any chance will you or you and Amy be attending or is leaving the twins just not in the picture?

LOL in my dreams.

I’ll be getting too near my third trimester and by then I’ll be lucky to be allowed to go to the bathroom by myself. I have a problem with preeclampsia and I’m planning on spending a lot of time in bed (and not the good kind either! :D )

Amy (God love her  ) is a flipping prenatal Nazi so I will be under very close scrutiny.

Maybe next year. By then the gnaw marks on my nipples should be gone too!

I rather suspected that would be the case. Hey, no problemo. I missed last year because I had pre-spent my play money and others had family tragedies. We'll just have to wait for baby pix until '10 that's all.

It's a bit off subject, but I thought you'd get a kick out of this "commercial" containing the Aussie's version of the TSA (I like theirs better!) Link

Oh that's rich! "One diy, yer gonna get caught . . ." I love it! Now, remember the feminist outrage when Coke did their construction worker taking off his shirt commerical. ;) It ain't just religious fundies that make our TV so bland!

Too true. If Amy tells me a joke, like, "The definition of frustrated is a blind lesbian in a fish market" it's funny. If you (as Mr. Vanilla Straight Guy) tells me the same joke it's still funny.

The difference is whether it is said to be hurtful or to feel superior or such. It isn't a thickness of the skin (or fur) thing either. Bigoted behavior can't be tolerated, but there is a balance between legitimate humor and hurtfulness.

I personally do some goofy stuff. If someone is laughing at what I did because it was funny, I'm going to laugh with him or her, even if it relates to my sexual preferences. I think a large part of it is a security thing. I happen to be very secure in my femininity, sexuality, and self. Maybe that’s why I don’t find these subjects taboo.

Right. I can tell 'dumb male' jokes all day long, mostly because at one time or another I've probably done most of them. The best Jewish jokes are told by Jews, the best lawyer jokes by lawyers, etc. I even had a blond sergeant who worked for me who was physically and intellectually one of the most superior people I've ever met in my life. She told blond jokes that broke up the entire battalion! Being offended is a choice. If someone doesn't want to be offended, choose some other reaction. :D

I'm gonna really try to be there. But, where exactly is there? Chicago is big! LOL...

Someplace nice, with four walls and a roof and free airport shuttle that will be holding many of your Lit friends for hours of commeraderie.

Do specific details matter beyond that ;)
