I just had a tree fall on my Car:eek::eek::eek:

I am not sure whats going on here in S/W Indiana today. We are have alot of very strong winds. Last time I seen winds this strong we had a tronado going though.

The tree that feel belongs to the city, I have been all summer trying to get them to cut that tree down. sad thing is only half the tree fell. Right now I am in fear that the rest of it may fall on the house or finish off the car.

Anyone know what a windshiled for a 2000 Cadiliac SLS runs? Until they get the tree off my car I don't know how much more damge maybe. guess I'll find out how good my insurtance is afterr all these years.

MY wife happen to see the thing fall on the car. I'm just galde she was not hurt or anyone else.

Sorry for this post being all over the place, I'm just a bit shock up right now. cars can be fixed or relpaced.

The wind that you are experiencing are from the remains of Ike.

Getting it up here in West/Central, too. My roof is now a drum for the walnuts falling from the tree.

*Waves to Redpaint, who is down in what I consider "home"* Stay South of Terre Haute, the people up here are weird :p

I'm in southern Illinois, about 45 minutes from the Indiana border. It's been raining and the wind is blowing and we were without power for about an hour this morning.

Good luck, all my hopes this gets resolved soon for you.

A tree fell on our house four years ago during Charley. Not something I'd recommend.

Weird thing was...it was so loud outside I didn't hear the tree fall separately. When my husband came home though, he did feel compelled to wake me up and say "Um. Did you know there was a tree on the house?"

We had four trees in our yard back during the tornado of '90. The eastern maple fell north on the corner of the house. The center one fell west on top of the 70s Thunderbird and the 70s Chevy Pickup. The western one dropped north, directly on top of the Escort and the Olds.

The enormous pecan in the back yard took out one whole building ( four apartments ) of the senior citizen housing complex behind the house with just the trunk, the uppermost branches hit in an empty lot across the street. Amazingly, nobody was hurt there.

We had the bad winds here in TN too. Lots of limbs down. Looks like a tornado came through instead of just high winds. We lost power for about six hours.

What I saw just a bit a go had 70+ MPH winds and heavy rain from Illinois to Tennesee and up to Michigan. That damn storm is 600 miles across!

Lost power right after I made the first post just got it back about an hour ago. I am happy to see the power back on I have to sleep with a CPAP. I tend to stop breathing in my sleep. Good news is We got the tree off the car, the tree also ripped some sideing off the back of the house. thats easy to take care of.

heres a few pic I took of my car for the insurance company. I wash I could have went arouns town this afternoon. I have been hearing I got off lucky. I didn't need anyone to tell me that, my wife was standing at the back door when that thing fell on the car. just a few inches the other way and I hate to think what could have happen.
Looks like the only damge it the windsheld and some trears on the rag top.

We had between 5 and 9 inches of rain this weekend in SW Michigan and a tornado touched down about fifty miles from here.

Redpaint, my weekend weather mirrors yours. We've got tree limbs down from several trees and stuff blown everywhere. Wind started on Saturday evening and it's still blowing (Monday lunchtime now).
My daughter's pushbike is under one of the limbs. We'll move it when the wind stops.
I'm a tad over it.
