lol Your last post was good. I'm just unable to post anything Longshot related until Unseen finishes her responses with Smellerbee and Ty Lee.
I am working on an opening post for another character which I've cleared with Lily, though.

heheh Anywho, here's my new guys profile. Opening post will be up in a minute. Had to shoehorn him into things a bit with it, but, meh.

Home Land: Northern Water Tribe
Abilities: Waterbending, skilled fighter, particularly with a club and/or spear
Bio: A single child born and raised within the Northern Water Tribe, Ryota grew up with similar goals as many of his time; becoming a water tribe warrior and/or Water Bending master. While he struggled for years at grasping a proper hold of learning combat skills, he did turn out to be a natural when it came to learning the basics of water bending. Unfortunately, once he'd obtained a firm hold upon these basic skills, the relatively sheltered life he lived (thanks to the protection of the great tribe) kept the young student from continuing to treat his lessons with the amount of respect they deserved; particularly during a time of war.
Outside of family, he held close a small number of friends which he'd grown up with from childhood and up to his early teens. The one he held the dearest, above all others, was a young girl name Akemi. Like himself, she was naturally gifted when it came to the ways of water bending, but only learned how to use it for healing purposes; as was the custom for the women of their tribe. This suited her fine, as she held little interest in fighting and always had a knack for helping and nursing others. Overall, in spite of a few joking comments by their peers about getting married, they both seemed content with a friendship which almost made them see the other as family.
When Admiral Zhao led his fleet of fire nation ships in a siege upon the Northern Water Tribe, Ryota's father was among those which risked all and, ultimately, sacrificed is life in protecting their homeland. Due to his lack of preparation, and save for a few defensive maneuvers against the stray Firebender which crossed the paths of him and his loved ones, the young bender could do little more then watch as the landmark event unraveled before him. Another personal tragedy would soon strike, however, after the lunar eclipse stole away the benders abilities to defend themselves with Water Bending.
After having joined with his Mother and others to a safer location, the young water tribesman left in search of the inexplicably missing Akemi. When he stumbled across the girl, he discovered she'd been putting her gifted abilities to good use by trying to heal those of their tribe who'd fallen in battle and were caught by stray fire. Now that she couldn't do even this much due to the eclipse, Ryota was capable of pulling her away to try and find safety. A wrong turn later, and he found out first hand how ineffective what little he learned of combat was against a trained fire nation soldier. After Ryota was beaten down in hand-to-hand combat, Akemi took the fire burst meant for finishing him off; snuffing out her life in a horrible fashion right before his eyes.
Unbeknown to Ryota, and certainly unnoticed in his moments of grief, Princess Yue had sacrificed her life during this time to restore the moon, the source of a Waterbenders powers. Thus, when he lashed out in a haze of aggression and rage, the young bender never expected the onslaught of jagged ice which his trained movements unleashed upon the lone fire nation soldier. Despite an initial reaction of surprise over his actions, Ryota felt a small sense of satisfaction at the sight of his foes shredded, bloody body laying limp on the icy floor. But even this passed as he would simply kneel there beside the charred body of his childhood friend, watching her with teary eyes of sadness and anger until others of their tribe finally came upon them.
This, combined with news about the loss of his father, caused an understandable change in Ryota. Training and practicing harder then ever in mastering both his water bending and more 'basic' fighting skills, he steadily became one of the finer young warriors of the Northern Water Tribe. When the war ended, the young bender was thrilled over the news, but continued holding a deep seeded dislike for the Fire Nation. He's gradually come to accept that things, and perhaps even people, have changed over the years. Still, he tends to deal with anyone associated with the fire nation, which he comes across frequently during his travels between the Northern and Southern tribes, in as courtly a manner as possible.
He's done a fair amount of traveling outside of trips between home and their sister tribe, but none which took him so far away as his most recent position as part of an escort for Sokka and Katara of the Southern Water tribe. Thus far, he's found it an exciting learning experience, and hopes to learn more from watching the talks between the nations first hand. At the same time, it's making him realize how sheltered his life continues to be despite what he's gone through during the past eight years. And he also thinks the experience would turn out a bit more pleasurable if a certain water tribesman would cut down on the bad jokes.

Zutara gives me sweet little "yay!" feelings, but I also feel like Mai and Zuko finding redemption together is one of the bestest screen romances in modern telly, so definitely Maiko. Also, Kataang is like, Destiny, and it sounds like a really awesome sound effect. KATAANG!
So Zuko with Mai, and Katara with Aang. This is my Truth.
Sokka should get as much as he can handle, because he is absolutely adorable. Anytime he gets so much as a peck on the cheek, I'm like, yaaaaay, vicarious luvvins! So. I can't really pick, because a) I don't want to deprive Sokka of any girl, and b) because I don't want to deprive any girl of Sokka.
Hm. But if I had to pick? I'd say he should be with Suki, because she is Fantastic. (Which really pretty much shortchanges Toph and Ty Lee, doesn't it? See, now I feel like a bad person. Shipping is hard.)

and Ty Luko... I think it says something that he's the only guy she doesn't flirt with and yet is so obviously disappointed that he thinks she's as ditzy as she seems
and I like Suki.. I really really do ..she's so completely awesome... it's just my Tokka fangirlism eclipses that ..and umm Yue is the Moon so hey no threat!
