Avatar: Lightning strikes (OOC)

o_O

Aaanyways.

This is a pretty popular show. I'd think more people would be interested. C'maaaaan... C'maaaaan.

*Sigh*
I'm feeling bored again.

And that leads to trouble.

Because now I really really want to do a TT thread.

Sorry for the delay. Meant to have this up yesterday but my connection went out for much of the night. Anywho, hopefully we'll find people to fill a few more parts so we can start this one up.

Name: 'Longshot' - Shen Howin
Age: 23
Appearance: http://fc06.deviantart.com/fs22/f/2007/342/2/a/Practice_Sketches_18_by_PFFbySIO.jpg
Home Land: The Earth Kingdom

Abilities: Expert marksman and skilled hand-to-hand fighter.

Bio: In his old life, Longshot was a considerably active child with a penchant for getting into trouble. While part of this may prove a noticeable juxtaposition for life in his later years, one thing which remained the same was his natural gift for incredible accuracy; his 'weapon' of choice back in those days having been a slingshot. With it, he frequently delivered payback against other village children -- and even adults -- who poked fun over everything from his families poor income to the 'unique' shape of his nose. Raised by a mother and father in a family which barely got by, he was often taken aside and walked to by the latter in hopes of improving the boys more aggressive demeanor and self esteem issues. Though he heard it all and often considered the elder Howin's words, they rarely made much of a difference when it came time for putting them to practice.

When the fire nation struck their village and burned it all to the ground, he'd turn out as one of the few which survived; thanks in no small part to his pinpoint accuracy allowing him a form of long range defense. Gone was the exuberant nature which those few others which made it out alive had long since known him by. In fact, his refusal to speak left these individuals believing him struck dumb due to shock from the horrid events which befell them. The boy traveled with these few for a while, but their constant looks of pity eventually caused him to one day slip away in the middle of the night. Trading his slingshot in for a bow he'd taken from a hunting party one evening, he made due traveling on his own and living off any fruits or vegetables he could snatch away and the meat of whatever he could catch. This time alone also allowed for a great deal of deep thought and reflection on his life, but left him with little options for direction in the future.

This continued for several months, until his travels brought him upon a small group of youths which went through similar tragedies in their lifetime. Even though it would take a few months more before he spoke with any of them, their leader, Jet, offered him refuge among them after having recognized a fellow sufferer on first glance. In time, it also proved to provide him with a new purpose and meaning, as Longshot (which he'd been dubbed due to his marksmanship and graciously accepted as his title) became one of the most productive and ultimately level headed of this fledgling band of 'heroes'. His status as one of the earliest members of Jet's Freedom Fighters likely contributed to why, in an ironic twist a fate, a number of his teammates often turned to him for assistance; despite his being a man of few words status. His body language and expressive, often intense eyes were usually enough for getting across what he wanted -- least in relation of those who came to know and recognize the workings for his more subtle ways of communicating.

He stayed with this group of well intentioned troublemakers until their eventual disbanding -- opting to travel alongside Jet and Smellerbee when everyone went their separate ways. A large part of it had been due to his feelings of loyalty and friendship toward both. Another part, however, was a fear of his former leader being incapable of truly making a fresh start. Sadly, this fear proved justified in Ba Sing Se, after Jet's fanatical obsession of ousting a pair of fire nation citizens led to a chain of events which ended in his painful demise. Smellerbee's later incarceration into a fire nation prison devastated the former Freedom Fighter; having failed twice now in protecting his friends and surrogate family. He always held onto hope of an opportunity for freeing her presenting itself, but deep down knew how minuscule his chances were.

Thus, much of his time during the remainder of the war had been divided between small efforts in helping others in despair and honing his skills. Sometime after the war ended and life settled down (least when compared to previously), he spent much of his time as a peaceful traveler, yet kept his talents sharp and never hesitated in giving help when needed. When word first reached him about a reformation of the Freedom Fighters, he was perhaps the most reluctant of agreeing with the decision. At the same time, his travels helped him recognize the reasoning for it and, in spite his continued concerns, turned out to be one of the first primary members of their original faction to rejoin this new incarnation.

Nevertheless, as much trust as he's placed within the abilities of his old teammates, he continues to maintain a watchful eye on each of them for their better good. Particularly Smellerbee; whom he recognizes as being more level headed then Jet in his time (albeit louder in her forced position as leader), but often fears may share a similar fate down the road.

Gettin' my evil on.

( Heh...)

To help get things moving along, I''m going to take up Azula... But if anyone else hops on that'd like her, I'll gladly hand her over. :)

Thus why I don't plan to write out a full bio for her.

Managing to make Azula seem sweet? Impressive.

I'll take Aang under the same premise. Kind of helps to have the Avatar in an Avatar thread. Same deal though, if anyone comes along and wants him, that's fine.

Ah, Azula and Ty Lee. Women who both frighten me and arouse my....interest.

Scared of Ty? But why? She's just a bundle of cute. Now Azula. . .I can understand a healthy fear of her. Cus you know she'd rip off parts of your anatomy, roast them and feed them to you. Worse she might do it affectionatly without actually being upset with you.

If I'd gotten here sooner I would have tried out Zuko but I've done my fair share of good guys and Aang is oddly likeable for a good guy, so if you guys want another guy I'm more than happy to oblige.

poor Mai...though I do wonder Ahren...why is Ty Lee in the Fire Nation? cause last I checked she had joined the Kyoshi Warriors

Sean - That's okay with me, though Lily should be the main approval.

Lily - Yes.

Unseen - It was mainly just a joke by Mai. No matter where Ty Lee is, Zuko didn't want to take the chance that Mai was serious.

mmk was just curious.... lol now I have the image of Ty Lee brushing Zuko's hair...I'm pretty sure she'd do a good job of it..I just don't think she'd shut up once during the process

Its ok with me if its ok with you.

So...
Go ahead, Sean.
Just need a newer profile as to what he's been up to.

Name: Aang
B]Alias:[/B] Avatar, Kuzon
Age: 20 (apparent) 120 (actual)
Appearance:
Home Land: Nomadic

Abilities: Able to bend all four elements, outstanding hand to hand, limited flight.

Bio: After the defeat of Pheonix King Ozai Aang went on to breifly date Katara but things between them didn't last long and Aang would retire largely from public life, settling down in once place just didn't sit well with the Avatar and most of the eight years interim he's been doing what he does best, wandering the land and helping people with their problems.

His training has largely came to an end with the defeat of Ozai, particularly firebending which Aang rarely used do to it's wild nature and now he can only perform trivial firebending and redirect lightning.

Honestly the news of Azula breaking out hearing that the old gang was gathering. He wished he wasn't happy about it but deep down he was. Besides as powerful as Azula had been how much of a threat could she be without Sozien's Comet anyway?

(I suck so bad at Bios.)

I do too, most of mine was just a recap of the series and all the 'new' stuff was even shorter than yours. Though to be clear, no one knows Azula broke out yet and they're just gathering for a meeting, unless you're just commenting on what is likely to happen anyways.

...and another note..I kind of already mentioned in the IC that it was Aang that invited the Freedom Fighters to the Four Nations...thing..
