Democrats To Approve Offshore Drilling!

Each year the Congress considers removing the ban on offshore drilling for oil and natural gas. Each year the liberal left refuses to let the issue come to the floor to even be voted on.

Rumors rife in the halls of Congress are that the Democrats are going to allow the issue to be voted on this year, and get this, may even vote to remove the ban!

Tell me it ain't so, Joe!

A brief blurb by Nancy Pelosi, (third in line for the Presidency), indicated the left may approve offshore drilling in certain places and under certain conditions.

Any one care to guess what those conditions might be?

Essentially, Nationalization of the off shore industry. Thas right, Elmer, Nancy wants a cut of the profits to squander elsewhere.

The left wants to charges tremendous fees just for the leases to 'explore' for petroleum, regardless of discovery or a dry hole. The left wants the oil industry to invest billions and billions to explore, drill, pipe, refine and distribute the products, but.....and a big butt it is, the parasitic left wants a lion's share of the profits.

That means gas and diesel and heating oil prices will not decline as production comes on line, but Congress will have billions to give the teachers union and the greenies.

Wunnerful, jes wunnerful, Clyde.

Ain't life tedjious, Jessie? Ironic almost, as the eco nuts will rant and rave, or will they? All the terrible possibilities of ecological disasters the eco freaks have been screaming about for years, suddenly wiped away by the profit motive...and erm, the fact that the public knows damn well the left is responsible for the high prices at the pump and they know it won't fly at the polls this time around.

The Palin earthquake continues even to the point of Obama saying lipstick on a pig has no reference to her comment about the difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull, was...you got it...Lipstick....so now she's a pig, eh?

That ain't gonna fly in Podunck, Sam, uhuh, not at all.

The Obama campaign is over.

That 'pit bull' with lipstick from up north has grabbed onto his black ass and is chewing it to bits and the whole world is witnessing the meltdown of the left into bitter, petty attacks against the lady.

I hope you are ashamed to be of the left persuasion.

Some wank said no one will ever take all fifty states ever again....wanna put some money where your mouth is?

Oh, yes, before I forget, yes, I am aware that each and every Alaskan citizen got a blackmail check of nearly $4,000 from the oil companies just recently, it is called extortion, regardless of what arm of government confiscates the hard earned profits of a corporation, siphons off some for themselves and plays Robin Hood with the rest, meanwhile, it is really the consumers, you and I, who continue to pay high prices and subsize the Eskimo's and Inuits.

Such a deal...;)

toodles....

Drilling a national icon

Back in 2000 a survey indicated that 92% of Australians were against drilling the Great Barrier reef for Oil.

I heard a couple of days ago that some geologists want to take core samples "near to the reef " to prove the assumed geology of what is supposed to be a good prospective area. No public announcements yet but the sparks will fly soon

I wonder if attitudes have changed. I suspect they have but not enough - yet.

Australia is a country which has managed the moral gymnastics of mining Uranium and selling it to the Russians but cannot bring itself to either build its own reactor or drill the reef.

ps My wife has reassured me that the Russians have promised not to use any of our (morally good) uranium to make weapons. Neither we nor the UN has inspected their usage for eight years but I'm sure we can trust that nice Mr Putin!!

This piece has about thirty reads and not a single comment by the 'usual suspects' whom I think must still be in shock at the reversal of politics expressed by the democrat powers that be in Congress.

As the politics of the 60's continue to crumble, even the old growth trees on the Berkely campus are coming down and aged hippies are whining and moaning in droves from sea to shining sea.

Ain't that sumpin to watch, guys?

heh!

What's the Eskimo word for dirty snow again? Isn't it the same as dirty politician?

Hell, Selena, if McCain had chosen a pig as his running mate, I would have promoted it too...oh...wait, hey, he did!

OMG...now whas so paradoxical about that?

Obama also used the 'lipstick on a pig' expression last year, or at least sometime way before Palin was in the picture.

But what the McCain camp also forgot mention was that McCain used the phrase hisownself during the campaign last year to describe Hillary's health plan.

And don't fret about the offshore oil drilling. The Dem package is for 4 southern eastern states but the conditions/add-ons are bound to be such that the Reps won't buy into it.

Ah, Neon, your 'lite' is showing its true depth here.

The government has empowered both the Eskimo's and the Inuits to continue slaughtering whales and killing baby harp seals and hunting caribou and killing predators, wolves, to stabilize the population of game animals for human consumption.

We have zoo's just for you concrete box bound liberals who are chained to your state of the art computers, so you can actually see wild animals, even if in captivity, cuz you don't have the cojones to actually go out into the wild and observe one.

You may not like your humanity, but man is a meat eater. Also, he does not come equipped with fur or claws or powerful jaws to compete in the animal world, instead, we have a brain.

Lacking fur, man requires shelter, he is not happy living in a tree or digging a hole in the ground.

Whale oil served a purpose until petroleum was discovered and exploited and we even burned animal dung, (the ayrabs still do) to keep warm until we discover coal and oil.

It is really cute that you favor animal comfort over humans, we call your ilk, bohemians, left wing fringe elements and we tolerate you as we do mosquito's and cockroaches.

But in an ideal world, well, I might put you in a Zoo, just to remind me of the old days.

Pelosi wants very limited areas to be drilled. She also wants to sell off part of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve. I wonder what price she will charge? Will it be todays $102 or the 130-145 dollars we paid?

She also wants the oil co.s to pay royalties dating back to the 1990s. Why were they not paid in the first place? Were they forgiven in some way? Should that be the case it seems to me she is back dating a rule or a law. Something that is usually considered bad business.

It will be interesting to see the fine details.

Well, inc666 that 666 is the old anti christ thing of the Exorcist days that Satanists love to belief in?

I see the apologists are beginning to emerge, no surprise.

But, I ain't gonna let you lefties forget that the option to drill offshore is a complete reversal of the left wing agenda that has been in place for decades.

To make the issue even more poignant, the left has for nearly forty years forbid construction of new oil wells, new refineries, nuclear plants, hydro electric dams and is totally responsible for America's dependence on foreigh oil, all to pander to the ecological and environmental radicals that want to destroy industrial America and achieve zero growth in the population.

Only the stark reality of political writing on the wall as the Democrats face a landslide defeat in November, has the left political bigwigs rethinking their entrenched policies.

Way too little, way to late my lefty opponents...you lose.

It may be, taint is taint no matter where it comes from.

Drilling for oil in the frozen wastes is no biggy... it is just a cost. The balls is in wrapping the exploration contract with punative penalties. Now... which side has the balls?

Drilling for oil in the frozen wastes is no biggy... it is just a cost. The balls is in wrapping the exploration contract with punitive penalties. Now... which side has the balls?

Here is the problem with having big balls and not caring about the out come.

Today we inport 10 million BBLs of oil at a rough cost of $1 BILLION. A lot of that money goes to people who don't like us very much. Saudis, Hugo Chavez, and Nigeria. It is also $1 Billion that does not go into our economy. That money does not stimulate the U.S. it stimulates other country's. We also inport natural gas more of our money going off shore.

Were we able to drill here and assuming 5 million BBLs/Day output that would stimulate America with $6 billion dollars annually.

On the other side when the taxes get too high Big Oil just may say to hell with it. We can't make any money with these taxes so find someone else.

Taxes have another consideration. When the last "Windfall Profits" were taxed (in the 70?) domestic production fell by 4% and imports were up 16%. Less money coming into the U.S. and less in taxes. More money flowing out out.

Pelosi has nothing to lose. If Big Oil drills then she gets more money to piss away on what ever her heart desires. Should they say hell no then she gets to push her "I'm here to save the world" agenda. We will have to cover the country with wind mills. Thousands of miles of them. Thousands more covered with photo voltaic panels. Huge new sections will be needed for the electric grid.

Who is going to pay for it. You and I and every American on this board.
T. Boone Pickens says he needs subsidies from the government to build his wind fields. Where will the money come from? Taxes on Big Oil.

What only a few on this board seem to understand is corporations do not pay taxes. The tax costs to Big Oil is passed directly to the consumer. The price of Gas will go up. The cost of everything that is transported from point A to point B will go up.

Secondly governments love taxes. Once the tax is in place it may never go away. Did you get that phone tax rebate a year or so ago? It was a tax that was enacted during the Spanish American War 1898. You pay an Excise Tax when you buy tires. That was enacted during WW II.
The thing to remember is all taxes are regressive. That is they hurt the economy.

I find it hard to get excited about "big balls" when the bearer has nothing to lose no mater the out come.
