I am hot. I am sooo HOT.

The question at our house has been which of these 4 creatures (not any bipeds) is pissing/spraying in my house. Until just now, it was debateable which one to blame because we've never caught one in the act.

Until now.

I was sitting on the edge of the couch, eating a bowl of chili, in my underwear. The bitch cat wanted me to get up "right now" and let her out. She was bitching and meowing at me and then walked behind me on the couch and pissed on my back!!!!!!!!!!

Did you catch that?

SHE PISSED ON MY BACK!!!!!!

like not more than 10 minutes ago!!!

My first thought was to put her in a box, take her to an entirely different neighborhood and kick her ass out. (After I bathed again and got dressed, of course.)

A calmer head has prevailed. But not much calmer...

I realize that there are a zillion cat lovers who inhabit this forum, and in truth I doubt if I could ever be so cruel.....but if a cat pissed on me in any manner or in any place, it would have pissed its last.

obviously I love animals. We have 3 cats and a dog.

But this has gone over the line. I've been dealing with this for a long time... cleaning every day and throwing some things away because they were ruined.

I'm hating this cat...

Those are two possible issues. However miss kitty is obviously passing urine OK, so that's good, at least. My boy has periodic UTI's - the thing that's telltale is straining to pee.

His demonstrative distress pee is still peeing on a towel or stray pair of jeans left on the floor, though. Not me.

Urinary tract infections and renal failure don't always reveal themselves as blockages. Usually they cause pain, which the cat newly associates with the litter box. And, they wait, to avoid the pain. So, when they finally *have* to go, they could pick anywhere that they think will be less painful.

That was my first thought too. The only cat out of many I've ever seen actually piss on a human did so and had a problem in that area.

He was my Dads fav cat. He pissed on my Dad's bare foot. It was, I believe a cry for help.

Shortly after he became more of a she as far as the peeing bits. It made life easier for everyone.

Poor kitty.

Such medical problems are very serious. Of course the cat could just be mad or something but it's worth checking out.

My little monster cat Gordy...he is fixed and everything. I was laying in bed with my ex and then bam he pees on our feet.

I had the same reaction...I knew one of my three cats had been doing it...but I wasn't sure. I was so ticked when it happened...I found this book though and it really helped.

This cat is not sick. She's fucking nuts.

When I didn't pay attention to her and meet her immediate needs, she jumped on the couch and pissed on me.

It was a deliberate act.

I don't know what to do with her. I'm thinking tight cat diapers... do they make those?

I've only known cats to do that for two reasons. 1) she's got a medical issue that you are not aware of or 2) she's pissed off at you or at one of the other animals in the house and is expressing herself.

So sorry she did that to you but at least it wasn't the other thing...

First of all, sounds like theirs some dominance issues that need to be resolved with the cat.

Second, the best way to get rid of a piss smell in your house is rubbing alcohol. Put it in a spray bottle and spray the offending area - I guarantee it will work. This also works for beds that children have wet it in. I don't know how or why, but I've been doing it for YEARS and now my sisters do it and our houses never smell like piss. PLUS, my sister had this neighbor who'd just moved in. This was woman was anal retentive about her house, and when she moved in she noticed a spot in one corner that, no matter how many times she shampooed or wiped the walls, smelled like cat piss. I told her about the rubbing alcohol and she was so thrilled with me, cause it WORKS and it's cheap to do.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate cats. They just aren't the pet for me. Our next door neighbours have an old moggy that sunbakes on our balcony and in the garden and it's a sweet old thing. It's not allowed in our house anymore though cause it sprayed on the leg of the spare bed
