First of all, thanks to everyone for the advice provided and the book link. And thanks for commiserating with me... ;-)

I've been fighting this battle with bitch cat since she and Jane moved in. The problem was that I already had/have an older cat and at the time, I had a dog who was in ailing health. So we were never really sure which one of them was the offender.

Then my lab died and after a couple of months we brought Nando home. By this time we were pretty sure that the dogs weren't to blame.

I took Netzach's advice and got another litter box. That has helped regarding the kitten.

I'll check out the link that Fotsie posted. By the way, all our pets have been spayed or neutered. (I have a tom and 2 female cats and a boy dog.) We love animals in this house.. we take good care of them and they really enrich our lives.

But bitch cat is schizo.
And she brought out the psycho in me yesterday.

First of all, sounds like theirs some dominance issues that need to be resolved with the cat.

Second, the best way to get rid of a piss smell in your house is rubbing alcohol. Put it in a spray bottle and spray the offending area - I guarantee it will work. This also works for beds that children have wet it in. I don't know how or why, but I've been doing it for YEARS and now my sisters do it and our houses never smell like piss. PLUS, my sister had this neighbor who'd just moved in. This was woman was anal retentive about her house, and when she moved in she noticed a spot in one corner that, no matter how many times she shampooed or wiped the walls, smelled like cat piss. I told her about the rubbing alcohol and she was so thrilled with me, cause it WORKS and it's cheap to do.

You are a font of wisdom, I am so doing this. We have the one magic neurotic spot in the house. Gah, he's our best buddy in every other regard.

Don't get me wrong, I don't hate cats. They just aren't the pet for me. Our next door neighbours have an old moggy that sunbakes on our balcony and in the garden and it's a sweet old thing. It's not allowed in our house anymore though cause it sprayed on the leg of the spare bed

You can also take all the other cats out there and make em watch you off the offending feline so they will know what to expect if they don't walk the straight and narrow line.
