Should Sarah Palin stay home with her kids?

Did I generalize...to some extent, yes. But that was because I didn't see any examples of a positive experience. Though I'm sure that it's happened now and then, statistically speaking.

Not saying that people aren't individuals....far from it. I am one of the most militant of individualists (as opposed to egalitarians, which to me are a separate element).

I simply made observations based on what I have seen and experienced. Then again, since I've not been elected Pope, I leave room for error. ;)

I just watched the first part of an o'reilly interview with obama. They both looked good. Oreilly didn't pander and was tough without being obnoxious, and Obama didn't stutter and did as well as anyone could without admitting things like, "Hey - if I knew then what I knew now I would have voted for the surge." (Actually, pols would serve themselves a lot better if they did say things like that.)

PS. Plus the guts to enter that cockpit.

The surge, the surge, the surge. The increased troops get trotted out and they say the surge worked! But again, they forget to mention what was probably more effective than the additional soldiers - there was a huge 'win the hearts and minds' strategy that had been implemented and we were bribing folks left and right.

I was a legislative chair for a state organization at one point and did some meet and greet lobbying and I swear the the old saying is true: There are two things you never want to see being made - sausages and laws.

Just for the record, my own view on 'the surge" is that we will never know if it was the cause of whatever improvement exists in Iraq, or if the population and combatants there were just exhausted. Or a combination. That's rather a different issue from whether the correct vote for a congress member at the time was to allow it to happen or instead to quickly withdraw from the country.

True. We'll see what the debate brings.

Two cents:

Her husband is a commercial fisherman ergo he's away for weeks on end.

Well, not necessarily.

What does he fish for, exactly?

I'm not a fan of hers, but I don't think her husband has anything to do with anything.

She'll sink herself well enough without having to bring her family into the mix.

;)

If he's gone for weeks he can't care for five children and a grandchild properly. Not sure who he fishes for, just heard that when they announced Palin as the VP Nominee.
