Sounds good to me. Do we get that next week??

I wish... I even made my own raspberry cheesecake for dessert.

Mood: Don't ask. I was seeing a woman and thought things were going quite nicely at their own pace, when she issued an ultimatum of either spending every single weekend together or calling it quits, because if we weren't together she'd be stressing over who I was sleeping with.

I've never cheated on a woman in my entire life

So you can probably guess how I feel right now:(

*hugs* Scheh.

mood -glad i'm only at the in laws a few more hours. it's been a good weekend but I'm ready for home.

sad-i heard all about Hurricane Gustav on the news last ngiht. :(

a little worried -not heard from a friend for a few days. I know he's busy so I'm more than likely worrying for nothing.

Anyway, time to get things moving I think.

Thanks, EL. Hope you have a safe journey home :rose:

I've never looked forward to a new life as much as I am right now.

Mood: Flat.

Oh damn. :(

 :rose:

Maybe a heart-to-heart in a public place?

Mood = great!:)

Had my carpets cleaned this morning and they are gonna pressure wash my driveway, sidewalks and patio (weather permitting) this week. Oh yeah, also getting 5 trees and several ornamental bushes trimmed.

All this for under $200.:D

Sometimes writing a good review of services rendered have very beneficial outcomes.

So...if someone does a good job the first time or two...I suggest going the extra mile. Write a positive review on google, yahoo or craigs list.

It will come back to you.:)

Yup, what goes around comes around and that applies to the good stuff as well as the shit.

xactly...in fact I remember about 15 years ago one of nieces had a bday. At the time she was experiencing typical youthful rebellion. Except it was more than that. I wanted to express to her the concept of karma. My gift to her...a handcrafted boomerang.

On one side I wrote..."What Goes Around"

On the other I wrote...."Comes Around"

She had the boomerang and the accompaning letter mounted.

Last I heard...she still has it displayed in her home as a centerpiece.

I'm FRUSTRATED.

I'm ready to write... I've been writing consistently, well, and then... POOF! It's gone. Now... nothing! Grrrrrr..... (and I'm writing the best parts, too.)

Maybe I'm still a little hung over?

Slightly irritated.

My new Laundry Tale has been posted for a couple of days. It's had two votes, a 4 and a 5, no comments or feedback but...

...I'm getting PMs asking me for more pictures of me (as Jeanne) and dirty talk with very young males.

The PM writers obviously don't look at my profile.

Interesting day yesterday. Drove up for our monthly visit to the oldies. When we left at 7.30, it was foggy, overcast, slightly chilly, which soon turned into rain. Thankfully not too heavy. By the time we reached our first motorway service stop, the rain looked to be set in for the day. Within 10 minutes of leaving there, the rain stopped, the sky cleared, the sun came out, and by the time we reached my folks, the temperature had risen from around 60F to 77F. Bizarre. Hot, sticky, humid, uncomfortable. It did not bode well.

Lunch over, we stayed with my folks for a little while longer before the next step on the visit, my sister. I was presented with a graduation photograph of my niece/god daughter, who has just gained her law degree (despite being disabled/wheelchair bound with MS) and had been hand-picked for a 2 month work experience with the Home Office before returning to Uni for Solicitor training, and then on for her Masters. Good girl!

We filled up with petrol (the cheapest around, good old Morrisons at £1.10 a litre, a nice comfortable £6.60 a gallon!!!) and then set off for the return journey, which should only take around 3 hours. The first part of the journey was fine, dry, sunny, windows full open for some breeze. We stopped at the same service station for a pee break, coffee and Min's Burger King Whopper, and then off again to the rumbles of thunder overhead. Oh-oh.

Good old M25, she didn't disappoint. Very soon, the sky darkened, very black, the lightining was flashing away (sheet, not fork), the thunder was rumbling, and it started raining. Then we hit the first congestion with signs telling us there would be congestion between junctions 23 and 21a. They weren't wrong. We stopped. Literally stopped, and then the crawl started....the rain started, the heavens literally opened and a deluge fell. Ye gods! Fast speed wipers, even at the 10 mph I was managing in the queues, and all you could see was the interminable line of red tail/brake lights. *sigh* this was going to be a long drive.

Finally, after around half an hour, we crept past junction 21a which was the exit for the M1 into London, where they had road works on the slip road which was causing all the problems.

The rain was now so heavy that we could barely see, I had my fog lights on for any idiots behind who wanted to drive stupid. We crawled along, all of us, at around 25 mph, because it just wasn't safe to drive any faster. Min's comment, "At last, real rain!" I could do without it.

The rain started to ease off, we speeded up and hit the next queue, signs apologising for delays between junctions 18 and 16. *sigh*. This was going to be a long ride home. Then we came out through the curtain of rain. It just stopped. It was bizarre. The road was hardly wet, no spray, the clouds parted, and the sky lifted. Foot down and off we went. Took Exit 12 onto the M3 and looked forward to an easy ride. Nope. Before long, the rain started again, not as heavy, but still unpleasant. Then we hit another tail back......not stopped, just 3 lanes of very slow moving traffic, and miles of interminable tail lights.

Called in at another service station to pee, all that damn water outside, and coffee inside!! Back on the road, and finally, in the distance we could see the reason for the slow progress. A huge trailer with some enormous object on it, spread over 2 lanes (thank god there were 3 or we'd be going nowhere), and an escort van behind it. Everyone was having to move into the outside lane to get past it. Once that was done, foot down and off we went. Finally arrived. What should have taken us around 3 hours, had taken almost 5. I was beat. Stressed. Exhausted.

We had to go via eldest sprog's house to drop off all his stuff from the ill-fated trip to France - bike (in bike bag), suitcase, camera bag, cycling bag....and, most importantly, 5 bottles of wine. We finally stepped indoors are 10.15.

So what am I doing up now, you may ask? Got to bed around 11.30, fell asleep almost instantly, and slept until 4.30 before I even woke up the first time. Most unusual. And that was it. My body was wide awake and refused to go back to sleep. Add to which, my stomach was telling me very vociferously that it was hungry. So I have tea, I've eaten a couple of slices of toast, and decided to drop in here.

Today we are off to London, by train this time, no more driving, to visit The Globe Theatre (meeting up with Becca who is over on a visit, and then coming to stay with us for a few days, before zipping to Wales for the second half of the week). I don't drive to London. Just around it. At least on the train, if I want to, I can sleep. Just hope it's not too hot, and not too wet.

Have a safe trip, and I'll see you all Thursday - by which point you'll probably be absolutely exhausted, but I'm hardly running around like a teenager, so we'll be well matched :rose::kiss::heart:

Sleepy. I went to Atlantic City yesterday, braving the holiday traffic, and lost a few bucks. I tried to get a room out there, but the city was booked solid. so I drove home, and didn't get enough sleep this morning as a result.

Waiting and worrying.

Young son was seen and treated for a UTI yesterday (unusual in boys) and they put him on a broad spectrum antibiotic.

He's worse today. Temp over 103 (after ibuprofen), he's listless and miserable. He's just radiating heat. I just gave him Tylenol, we'll alternate ibu/Tylenol to see if we can bring it down a bit.

Doctor just called me back, is giving him another drug - Bactrim - to piggyback on top of the other antibiotic.

Sister can stay with him for a few minutes and allow me to run to the store. I can't imagine dragging him out, he hasn't left his bed yet today except to go to the bathroom. Hasn't eaten, wasn't even interested in pancakes.

In about ten minutes the med will be ready.

Mat -wow, you sound incredibly busy! take care, glad you got home safely yesterday in all that weather.

Sarahh *hugs* poor thing, him and you. I will hope for an upturn in his condition to happen soon. It really is awful when kids are sick.

EL, you are always so kind.

Young son has perked up a bit now with his fever lessened. He's not running around but at least he ate something and expressed an interest in Gameboy.

:)

And yay for your thyroid appointment! :rose:
