McCain confirms Sarah Palin!

I would explain the difference

but YOU arent smart enough to understand!

Kerry deerves a NOOSE around his neck:mad:

I know the difference, it's that you're one of those raving hypocrites you spend so much time misspelling.

I was going to make a new thread but I'll just ask it here.

What is the perfect BusyBody world?

It's White, thats for damn sure. Abortion is outlawed. Anyone not adhering to BusyBody's way of thinking should be hanged or shot. I'd play "What a Wonderful World" in the background but that was by some black guy. Can't have that.

Me thinks someone has a copy of Mein Kampf on his bedside table!

You havent been here long enough to know I dont agree wit hthe above:rolleyes:

Don't take me the wrong way. I believe that abortion should be decided between a doctor and a patient and that it should never ever be abused and used as a form of birth control or to take care of an unwanted, unplanned for or inconvenient pregnancy. I'd love to see laws that tighten up the responsibility of pregnancy prevention, education and support for women who are facing an unexpected pregnancy so that it is never the easiest option. I think abortion is abused and over used and it breaks me heart, but I don't believe in using it as a political platform because it's an empty promise that will not be fulfilled. It’s used to sway right-wing zealots and religious groups who are a bunch of fucking hypocrites in the first place!

He just seems like a really sucky option.

Not that you care, but I retract my earlier statement about you not discussing issues. Well put and I actually couldn't agree with you more. While I think that abortion is not by any means the most pressing issue in this election, I hate the fact that the Pro Life and Pro Life camps seem to speak only in absolutes. It's not the job or capability of our government to instill responsibility in it's citizens, but perhaps it's time for the government to try and encourage it. People should stop thinking everyone who has an abortion is a baby killer or that anyone against abortion is some sort of zealot. I've been fortunate in my life to never have to go through this with a chold of mine, but I've had close friends who have had to sadly terminate a pregnacy due to circumstance and then I've known a few people who used it like birth control and no big deal.

For what it's worth, my apologies to you.

I didn't notice, but thanks! ;) :D

Everyone wanted my now almost 18 year old daughter to be an abortion. This child has brought more joy to my life... I can't even express. It's limitless, the importance that her *life* has brought to this (and my) world.

I've had friend's have an abortion and it's no big deal. They weren't ready.

I've had a friend that to this day it's the biggest mistake they ever made.

Both are tragic to me.

show me flip flops

YOU SEE

I will explain it to you!

Nope, if there's no explanation for any flip flops for one side then there's none for the other.

Either being flexible and changing your mind based on information as it becomes available is a positive or it isn't.

You don't get it both ways.

You havent been here long enough to know I dont agree wit hthe above:rolleyes:

Yeah yeah yeah. I realize that facism is directly contrary to your view of true freedom. Comic relief ya racist bastard! Resume your stupid "Uh HUH" "Nuh UH" argument about scandals no one cares about now.

Oh and I mean "racist bastard" in the nicest of ways.

I can't believe the statement released by the Obama camp literally discounting small town America.

I believe it will be a huge mistake.

11 point bounce by Sarah.

Yup. His handlers made him look real petty.

I LIKE her.

I'm guessing she pulls 5% from Barry and co.

I like her, too. At first glance, she looks like a fine choice.

The timing was perfect, wasn't it? :)

I think the timing was a big mistake on their part. Instead of dissecting and distorting Obama's speech last night, all the dittohead pundits are busy trying to justify Rove's, er, I mean McCain's choice for VP.

Obama's speech gets to resonate.

Exactly.

All of the media attention is on Palin's nomination for VP right now ...
the focis shifted away from the Obama convention.

There's no reason to dissect Obama's speech immediately.
In fact, McCain graciously congratulated him on his special night.

People have a mind of their own.
They watch ... they listen ... they make up their own mind.

The political pundints, I doubt will be changing many opinions.

You're contradicting yourself here: if people will "make up their own mind," what does it matter where the media attention happens to be today?

As an Obama voter, I'm all in favor of getting Palin out there as much as possible. I'm especially in favor of wall-to-wall telecasting of her first appearance before the media, if they let her make one before November.

Yup. His handlers made him look real petty.

Why is pointing out that it was a small population an insult? It goes to experience. There is a difference between a small population and a large one.

From the wiki, and I think this bodes well:

Palin served two terms on the Wasilla City Council from 1992 to 1996. In 1996, she challenged and defeated the incumbent mayor, criticizing wasteful spending and high taxes.[3] The ex-mayor and sheriff tried to organize a recall campaign, but failed.[3] Palin kept her campaign promises by reducing her own salary, as well as reducing property taxes by 60%.[3] She ran for reelection against the former mayor in 1999, winning by an even larger margin.[3][8] Palin was also elected president of the Alaska Conference of Mayors.[9]

Either being flexible and changing your mind based on information as it becomes available is a positive or it isn't.

.

It is positive

I have NEVER said otherwise

I voted for it before I voted against it

(I know exactly what he meant)

Made little sense

Maybe you should reread what I posted.

People will make up their own minds when they listen to the speeches.
They don't need political pundints to dissect speeches.

Understand my point now? Or, are you just trying to be contrary?

Thats a great optimistic view but I don't buy it. Most people get their "news" from pundits because that's what the news has become. I flipped back and forth the other night from FOX News to CNN during Hillary Clinton's speech. You'd think it was two different speeches. After that I vowed not to watch the speeches and instead read them online. Even that takes a bit of effort to find! Unfottunately I doubt most people are bothering to ignore the "Newscasters." Instead they take it as fact because that is what the news is supposed to be!

Crap I hate when I hit submit before I finish the thought.

To your point however, most of those pundits may not change anyone's mind. It's usually just preaching to the choir. However, if I imagine someone who has never turned on a Fox News or CNN tuning in for the first time to pay attention to the speeches, they would come away with opinion presented as news.

It appeared you were suggesting that the Democratic convention was a non-event now because people are sheep and will forget all about it simply because McCain made some news today. And I think that's still a fair reading of what you originally posted, even if that wasn't your intent.

And it's pundit ferfuxsake.

She actually doesn't sound half bad - the problem is, does anyone really believe, that with McCain, she will have any impact or presence on a McCain admin? If McCain is elected she will just be a placeholder. Now if she was running for president herself, I might actually vote for her, but as VP and McCain running the show? No thanks.

Thanks for saying that for me. Now I don't have to.
