McCain confirms Sarah Palin!

And that was no speech.

I feel cheated.

You are very obviously blinded by your bias. You can vote for who you want and say whatever you want but it's pretty clear that you're not going to see any good at all in her or McCain simply because you don't want to.

Hillary's liberal agenda notwithstanding, a significant number of conservatives would have never voted for a woman president. Period. Having a female VP candidate on their own ticket is of no greater appeal, despite her otherwise impressive resume.

Meanwhile, Obama alienates his base by not picking Hill and choosing a business-as-usual Senate liberal as his co-agent of change.

I'm beginning to think this race may be decided by the (otherwise) party "faithful" who sit at home on election day as pissed as wet cats.

Obama voted for and was the chief sponsor of a bill that forced doctors to abandon BABIES BORN ALIVE after a botched abortion...........Forced them to put the LIVE BABIES in a corner and left em there to die

SEXXXXY SARAH HA 5 KIDS, ONE A DOWNS SYNDROME BABY!

I can't believe the statement released by the Obama camp literally discounting small town America.

I believe it will be a huge mistake.

11 point bounce by Sarah.

I felt the same way when I read the statement

As BAM did with his CLINGING speech, he speaks DOWN to so many!

They don't have to attack her - just attack McCain. She either has to fall into line with his policies or not. If she doesn't then she undermines McCain. If they keep it about the issues with her and not about her personality/experience/etc., then they won't look bad. Of course, someone may find some scandal.

A scandal like a one term governor who's team is already under ethics investigation for abuse of power?

Should the governor's aide, her boards and commissions director, have been making calls to have her ex-brother-in-law fired from his State Police position after his messy divorce and subsequent child custody battle with her sister? Of course her aide took it upon himself, I'm sure she had nothing to do with it..

That kind of scandal?

I can't wait to see the absolute silence from the Christian right, who in all other circumstances would be denouncing the spectacle of a woman leaving five children at home to fulfill her personal ambition.

leave it to an ardent liberal to be completely wrong about what so-called Christians think or how they conduct their lives.
fuck I'm so sick of DEMOCRATS defining everyone.

She just made an explicit appeal to the Hillary voters, saying "as Hillary Clinton said, there are 18 million cracks in the hardest of glass ceilings... Well, the women of America aren't done yet!"

The HILLARY SUPPORTERS SPEAK

On the blogs, they LOVE SEXXXY SARAH

HILLARY CLINTON, JOHN MCCAIN

'They brushed off the women base like dirt. and the GOP pick them up.'

Holy smokes! At this Hillary Clinton forum, called... HillaryClintonForum.net, the frustrated Hillary supporters are thrilled - almost as joyous as the glee coming from my readers. Comments include:

HOPE ITS PALIN, I WOULD VOTE TWICE JUST TO STICK IT TO OBAMA

Leave it to the GOP to pick a woman for the ticket. Obama snubbed the most viable and experienced woman who received 18 million votes, for another MALE. I have a feeling, somewhere somehow, Hillary is snickering!

If this is true, this moves me from staying at home to voting McCain.

GAME CHANGER

They may not be a representative sample of Hillary's 18 million supporters, but obviously, a certain number of those folks are elated to see a woman on a major party ticket, and are talking about donating and volunteering for the McCain-Palin ticket.

I get the feeling that this was expected, as one of my McCain guys just told me, "I think Obama will find that she's more than just a 'sweetie.'"

And now, about a week later... the Biden pick looks pretty crappy, huh? Is Obama sure he doesn't want Hillary on the ticket?

UPDATE: A reader notes, "The Democratic National Convention was a woman-palooza. Hillary's speech celebrated women's progress. Michelle's speech celebrated Hillary shattering the glass ceiling. Talk talk talk. Guess which party has a woman on the ticket

That's a scandal? Really?

You don't think that using one's political position to exact revenge on your sibling's ex a scandal?

Very telling and very typical of a right winger.. I'll hazard a guess that you voted for Bush, twice..

Politicians with skeletons in their closet? Shocker. No one with money and power is clean. Hell, I have no money and power and neither am I.

It's not right, but its not a scandal. It's a weak argument that will make me laugh at the Democrats if they use it. It's nepotism and it's a reality of the world. Don't screw over the governer of the state's sister if you work for the state.

A right winger? Bush twice? I hate to disappoint but I'm actually like a lot, possibly most people. I don't use political parties as celebrities and my heroes. I have no patience for the sensationalism of it all.

1992 - Clinton
1996 - Clinton
2000 - OK I voted for Bush but he ran against Gore and well...thats all I need to say.
2004 - Didn't vote because the Democratic party let me down by choosing John Kerry.
2008 - I have no idea. The truth is that I'm leaning Obama.

Sorry I forgot to fit in my box like a good Texan.

One person does not a focus group make, but I noted that my father, who is as Republican as it comes, clicked off the TV the minute Palin opened her mouth.

Marty Moose could be one recurrence of melanoma away from being the most powerful person on earth. Makes you think.

That reminds me of my father who is a life long Democrat of the Southern "Working Man" vein not being able to bring himself to support Obama or Clinton in the primaries...but he had his reasons...sigh. Not my proudest moment as a son.
