Very chilled. Family lunch out today, followed by big get-together of family and friends over lunch tomorrow. And then I'm escaping to a friend's for a few days for a combination of peace, quiet, gourmet cooking and sex.

My mood is tired, for a change. *L* It's been such a busy weekend but infinitely enjoyable. I took boo to Old Trafford on Saturday for a charity event, she was thrilled to see Rooney and Nanni (which makes her laugh because she calls her nanna Nanny, and it sounds like 80year old Nanny is playing football!) and Giggsy, too. Then we went on a wikld goose chase with my sisiter, but got to our destination eventually.

My daughter slept over at grandmas whilst her mummy and daddy had a sneeky play on the wii the family has clubbed together to buy her for christmas and had a throughly adult good time before bed. then got up at 5.30am to do a table top sale all day which made us a fair chunk of cash. yay!
And after that I went on to Mums for tea.

So yes, tired. but just a leisurely visit to a museum and a nice lunch planned today.

Deflated.

Our festival ended yesterday - a year's preparation, a few days' hard work, thousands of people enjoying themselves - and then it's all over until next year.

This was the 15th annual festival I've been involved in. Sometimes it is difficult to find new things to do and even the well-loved old things can get boring - except for this year's children who haven't done them before.

Next year I'll try for more literature. The success of our pavement poems might convince the sceptical others.

Planning starts next week...

Outside my house a group of teenagers broke their skateboard.

I gave them the one I had stored in my garage. At my age and with my medical conditions I'm not going to use a skateboard.

They were surprised and pleased to get an "old-style" skateboard and are now trying to see whether they can do old-fashioned moves that have been superseded with newer boards.

I've got a little more space in my garage and an acceptance of my age...

Today I'm sad and nostalgic. I've been thinking about Colleen Thomas and her writing, in particular "The Furies," which I finished reading through yesterday for the second time. All in all, I've come to realise she may be my favourite writer and her writings concerning her "Authority setting" have been a captivating read.

Irritated. So the roommate left Friday to go to his storage area in preparation to leave here. Still a carfull of his stuff here. I txt him to find out wtf is going on 5hrs later. Says he's with a friend in the hospital. Last night I tried to call to find out whats going on [hell he still has a set of keys to the house], voicemail is full, so I leave a txt. This morning, starting to get worried, call...vm still full...leave a txt. Go to MySpace to get a picture of him in case I have to file a missing persons report [hey, if I hadn't heard from him by tommorrow night I would have]...only to find he's on MySpace. Fucking jackass...would love to know what in Gods name he's doing, when he's taking the rest of his shit out of here, and when I'm getting the fucking keys to the house.

Morning! Another busy day ahead, made busier by the fact my little one is complaining of earache again, poor lamb. So, off to the doctors we go this morning. Then this afternoon I'm off to the hospital for my Pre-op where I'll get the date for my thyroidectomy,which will be very useful news indeed.
