McCain cheated on his wife!!!!!

I think the fact that with Clinton it was while he was in the White House meant that it was a bit more... pressing? for there to be answers given, but I do agree that the media is often blatantly slanted one way or another (it tends to change with the wind sometimes) which really impacts what people are exposed to in order to make their decision.

I guess I would rather someone talk about an issue rather than who is to blame for what disaster or who slept with whom in 1983 or wherever anyone goes to church or doesn't.

Actually, with Clinton, it wasn't about who he was fucking. It was about him lying to a Federal Grand Jury about who he was fucking. We all knew he kept his willy slick long before he ever got in office.

Oh man, true. I kind of forgot that massively important part. Thanks for correcting me.

And the fact that the fucking moron did it with a person in a subordinate position, which could have led to one of the greatest sexual harassment lawsuits of all time.

And people are bitching about something about 30 years ago.

I always thought his sexual adventures on his own time was his (and Hillary's) business, certainly not my business.

But the Oval Office is not on the second floor of the White House. It's a workplace owned by the American public. Getting a blow job while talking on the phone to a Member of Congress shows disrespect.

Then, lying about it and smuggly saying, "Well, it all depends on what your definition of 'is' is." Isn't right.

He did!

Cindy is the other, younger, richer woman.

John McCain left his wife for Cindy when she was seriously injured.
John McCain is 100 times worse than Clinton could have ever been and just as bad (if not worse than) Edwards. He even lied about it in his book!
McCain's dumping his injured and suffering wife for a blonde, rich babe prior to his becoming a prominent political figure was a tawdry episode (which he has readily admitted) that nonetheless does not reflect well on the man's judgment or character at that time. (22 years ago)

John Edwards' denial of an ongoing affair in the middle of his presidential campaign did not reflect well on his judgment or character. (as recently as eight months ago)

President Clinton's lying to a federal grand jury about the circumstances of an affair while President did not reflect well on his judgment or character while in office and was deemed by the House of Representatives to be an impeachable offense.

In those three instances, does any normal person have any difficulty in deciding which shit stinks worse?

You are asking this question around here??? :D

Tsk. You haven't got the memo, pinkstarfish. We are not now comparing John McCain to Bill Clinton, and certainly not to Barack Obama. We are now comparing John McCain to that abandoned whoremonger, John Edwards. Who is running for no office at present, but he is a Democrat, and that's what matters.

His first wife yes. And that was over 30 years ago and he admitted that he did.
This was before he was a senator so he did nothing wrong.

True, but why does the Its OK to Schtoop your Intern in the Whitehouse, lie about it and Potentially Open the Presidency to a Sexual Harassment Suit Party care :D:D:D

You didn't see the reference to 1992 in my post? I was comparing Clinton as a candidate to McCain as a candidate. Monica Lewinsky was several years later.

Sheesh, PinkStarfish has her homework cut out for her for rebuttal time...

Understood. My comment was more of an open Why should the Democrats care about this in any case? as a response to your conservative religeous right comment challenge statement.

Since McCain isn't really the conservative choice anyway, this whole issue is really a non-issue at this point.

No, but that's all they have to go on... for now.

Soon they will drag out the "he's stupid" and "he's senile" crap.

Old useless charges about any Republican candidate:

1. immoral

2. stupid

3. senile

You would think they would come up with something that might actually win them an election. But no....

Shit is shit, it all stinks. Funny to hear it put that McCain's shit somehow stinks less than Edwards' because his little affair was "a long time ago". Edwards infraction is no worse, in fact it's not nearly as bad, considering McCain actually left his severely injured wife for a newer model and Edwards is still with his wife who is suffering with a relapse of cancer (Gingrich didn't feel the need to do so when his wife was on her death bed of the same illness).

Anyone bouncing up and down about Edwards extramarital affairs should expect to have McCain's thrown squarely in their faces. Feces is still feces, petrified or fresh.

Like I said above: not my job to prove anything. His job to prove he qualifies.

Then that would be a resounding no to your being able to back up your assertion that he was born in Kenya. Just tossing baseless accusations seems to be your forte.

Let me play for the other team for just a moment...

I don't care. He's running for President. Not my Daddy.

Which speaks more to poor management rather than poor ideals. I mean, if you are ONE party in a TWO PARTY system, how hard is it to mount a convincing idea-based argument against one's opponent? Of course, this could go for both sides: "Those bleeding heart liberals are just waiting for us to be socialist so they can support all the poor people who will refuse to work and have gay sex and abortions all day" and all that.

You would think with only two parties that either one could at least attempt to muster something a bit more impressive than "He's inexperienced" and "He's old!"

I don't disagree with any of this.

My point was that if you're going to run a campaign based on biography and character (your own character and your opponent's lack of the same), we need to know ALL about that character and not just the parts that are flattering.

Correct.

How 'bout this:

I believe the government should provide complete healthcare for every person presently inside its borders, and I think we ought to pay for it in the following specific ways: 1,2,3,4, n.

I think we should throw all the illegal aliens out.

I think we should grant immediate amnesty to illegal aliens who have not broken any other laws other than their illegal presence here.

I think we should beef up the armed forces and make them so strong that we can fight several places effectively at the same time.

I think we should reduce the armed forces dramatically and expect people in other places to look out for themselves.

That’s the kind of thing only losing third-party types have the balls to say and that, among several other, more important, reasons is why nobody ever listens to them. We can’t handle the truth. We want scandal, bread, and circus.

Instead, at least until the debates, all we get is dirty laundry from decades ago, before most of the independent swing state voters were even born. What do we get instead?

McCain dropped bombs that hurt Phuong Nguyen, an innocent farm girl in Viet Nam.

Obama sat on someone’s doorstep right next to some guy who was a Berkeley bomb-chucker. Go ahead, folks, get your rocks off on bullshit.

I admit it.

I DO want "scandal, bread and circus."

No more and no less.
