I feel ill...

I feel light-headed.

My stomach is constantly doing somersaults.

I've lost weight.

I have random hot flushes.

I keep waking up at night, in hot sweats.

I keep getting heart palpitations.

My appetite has dipped.

I have constant, boundless energy.

I'm thirsty all the time.

My own, self-diagnosis...?

I'm in love with a fantastic guy. :D

And the best part is: he's as besotted with me as I am him.

I'm 35 (he's 28, hehe... I snagged meself a virile, energetic young man) and I have never felt like this before in my life.

Tis a very odd feeling.

And it's fucking great!

We're going away on holiday for a week on Saturday and I cannot wait! :nana:

How's about you? How does love make you feel, physically?

Or, should I be concerned for my health? :p

I've been all goopy with love, that sorta brain-cleaved, dopey, moony feeling, on a number of occasions. It's truly wonderful.

Enjoy the endorphin rush. Fuck and snuggle as much as you can and write drippy poems to each other. You will actually find that you ENJOY things like Debbie Boone singing "You Light Up My Life." (I never, ever thought that that could happen in a just universe, but there you go: I felt this way about The Babe. It was embarrassing. :) )

You think there's any chance at all this might be contagious?

Congrats on your happiness. :rose:

At first I thought you were describing the symptoms of menopause...

Which you actually were...

I was going to suggest a cure for those nasty hot flashes and night sweats, but it would appear that you think you have found the source.

But, there may be some of the Lit. ladies who might benefit from the information I have to impart, so here it is...

Soy Milk. That's right soy milk. An 8 oz. glass a day will keep the night sweats and hot flashes at bay.

I think I have told this story before...

My wife had a hysterectomy back in 1985 and has been suffering, off and on, the hot flashes and night sweats. When she was on hormone therapy she didn't have them. But, when she was off man was she tuff to live with. Then she read some place that soy milk took the hot flashes and night sweats and kept them at bay. She tried it and it has been working for her to three years now.

All this time we had been asking our doctor what she could do with out being on the hormone therapy...she said that was it just the hormones. Then we told her about the soy milk and she told us that was a good way to get go. I asked her why she didn't suggest it in the first place...never quite go a clear answer from her.

Congratulations Tate! :rose:

Crap!

You're out of circulation, huh. Oh well, hadn't bought my plane ticket yet anyway.

Sooo, Congrats! :D

Uh, Zeb, when you wife started drinking soy milk she put herself back on estrogen therapy. Look it up. Soy is the most estrogenous thing you can eat. (Heavy consumption has been implicated in breast cancer and low sperm count.) No wonder she feels better.

Grats, Lou, you cradle-robber you. :p

Yep. Phytoestrogens (fancy name for plant estrogen.)

Congratulations, Lou. Love makes me hungry. :)

The guy may be a bit younger, but he has great taste. Savor the moment(s). :rose:

To quote the old song lyric:

"You're not sick you're just in love."

Congrats Lou. :kiss::rose:

Thanks, peeps, I really do feel like I'm on cloud 9 right now. :rose:

John, I soooo get what you mean! But I doubt him and me will start listening to music like that; he's more of a thrash metal/death metal kind of guy. But stranger things have happened, I suppose, hehe.

Freshface, I really do hope this is contagious.

Rob, thanks darlin'.

lol, Zeb... do ya know, as I was writing out my "symptoms" I thought to myself, hmmm, this could seem like I have the menopause. Gawd, hopefully I won't have to go through that for a few years yet, but thanks for the tip on soya milk. :D

Thanks, Sarah... I will, I will, I will!!

Hehe, Jomar, ya daft sod. :D

lol, thanks Liar, and yep I am and it's fookin' great. :p

Thanks, Carson! Yeah, love makes me hungry, too, but not in the "I want food" way.

Thanks, Magica. :D

Awwww, cheers Rumps. You know I love you.

Indeedy Ted, and thanks.

I'm very envious........of the soy milk. 2 1/2 years ago, I was fitted with a coil that dispenses regular amounts of progesterone, to deal with some menopausal problems. Its solved those, apparently, but ye gods, the hot flushes at night are a real pain in the arse. Because of the progesterone, I can't really take anything else to try and counter the hot flushes, in case it mucks up the balance of progesterone in my body, and the original problems recur. But, once the coil is removed (so not loooking forward to that), if the hot flushes continue, I will definitely give the soy milk a go. Thank you.

Love always makes me do crazy things :)

Lou - if he has long, slightly curly hair and a large beard I think he may be related to my other half ;)

Oh, trust me, hon, when that song was at it's height, I wanted to shove my fingers down my throat and projectile vomit every time I heard it. And than years later, I found myself thinking that it was the PERFECT description of how I felt and actually ENJOYED hearing it. Part of me was horrified.

Well, I'm glad your illness wasn't more serious, I was worried for a second there. :p

Congrats. :D

*huff* Fine. I'LL quote it.
Orson Scott Card said:
"This emotion I'm feeling right now, this is love, right?"
"I don't know. Is it a longing? Is it a giddy stupid happiness just because you're with me?"
"Yes," she said.
"That's influenza," said Miro. "Watch for nausea or diarrhea within a few hours."
Congratulations Tatelou! :D

Hi Katie,

I've been there - you may remember.

Do what feels REALLY right for you.

Just think that you need something that lasts - then you can add transient things to that.

Love you,

I fucking hope it's love and not a kidney infection. You deserve it. (Not the kidney infection)
