So I went Bra shopping the other day and found out I have gone up yet another cup size...ugh! These things are growing like hair on my head!

I am now a Triple D...I am seriously considering breast reduction. I am a BBW but not terribly fat (just naturally curvy lol)...I am already very active... I play on both a soccer and softball team...Plus the work I do keeps me on feet constantly...so I don't think losing weight is an issue.

I am having some serious troubles with my back though. I have seen a few plastic surgeons. I am a little nervous about going through with it though. I know two women who have had bad experiences...one who's nipples are way off kilter and another who no longer has any sensation through her right nipple. That freaks me out.

Have any of you ever had a breast reduction...if so were the results good or bad?

If anyone else has any other suggestions let me know...Thanks for the help!

My BFF had this done because of her back. The main thing is to make sure your surgeon is board certified and willing to give you the names of patients who've had the same procedure (by their request, of course). BFF says she feels a million times better since she had it done.

Well, I'm an E and I've never really had an issue with the weight of my boobs, but I'm pretty tall and have a very strong back. Are you certain that it's your boobs that are causing the back ache?
Personally I always wear a sports bra at work for plenty of support, not sexy, but I have an active job, so it's necessary.
I know a couple of chicks that have had reductions. It's pretty major surgery. They have alot of scarring. But, some of them say it's the best thing they've ever done.

I am 5'7...so I am not too short...but I have seen a doc about my back and he says my bad posture and back pain are because the weight of my girls. I haven't done the sports bra bit before...I never found they gave me much support. A friend suggested that I wear my regular bra and then a sports bra...ugh...but I am willing to try it if it means not having surgery.

Thanks for the suggestion....Yeah the scarring is a major reason I haven't gone for it yet. Plus I have had a bad reaction to anesthesia before...so that is making me even more weary.

I'd kill for breast reduction surgery. (I'm a JJ - and that's not a typo.) Unfortunately, most insurances consider breast reduction surgery to be 'unnecessary' and 'cosmetic'. Good luck.

Their's a specific type of bra made for people who are large breasted. I don't know the brand name, but they're pretty much specially made, and therefore expensive - one bra is $75. I buy mine at 'the bra boutique', I'm sure there's a store near you that sells them. They're awesome, support wise.

Luckily my insurance will cover it...because the girls are causing back problems...if I don't take care of it now the potential back problems are more costly then the breast reduction surgery.

Wow JJ...I don't even want to think about that...I can hardly handle my DDD.

I will have to look for it...I generally order from Bravissimo...they are out of London and design bras for bigger breasted women.

Yeah, so does my doctor. My insurance doesn't care, they don't cover it PERIOD. I'm also only 5' tall.

Actually, another good brand, what I wore when I was DDD, is playtex, and you can buy that in the stores.

From what i have heard, it seems like the less money you spend the worse the outcome. A good and qualified surgeon should have no problems with giving references and showing pics. Remember that in most cases you get what you pay for.

So I shouldn't opt for that $5 tummy tuck on the side of the road with a rusty butter knife?

In all seriousness, every surgery comes with the risk that the outcome will not be all that you hoped for.

But absolutely they should have no problems giving references and showing pictures.

Check them out like you would any other service. They are doing work for you.

Good luck.

Choose F...Choose F...lol no I'm just kidding...yep I know not to go to some cheapo guy in a back ally...hehe. The sucky thing is if I want the insurance to pay for it I have to go one of their chosen doctors....now which one has the lowest mortality rate....(I'm j/k....although now that I mention it I think I should check that out.)
