Why Obama Will Lose.

Obama is promsing to confiscate billions from the oil companies and give it to you. He says he's gonna send you $1000 of the oil money and give the rest of it to state/local governments to create jobs. It wont happen, and everyone knows it wont happen.

McCains attack ads are starting to penetrate Obama's thin skin. McCain links Obama to Britney and Paris, now Charleton Heston and God. Obama is sputtering that McCain is racist.

McCain is gonna needle Obama about the narcissism and Messiah Complex, and Obama or his supporters are gonna come unglued and spew some very crazee stuff that will scare moderate white people. Look for Michelle to unload on Whitey (Obama has her locked in the attic) or for black supporters to do goofy things.

Its too bad. McCain is Dr. Strangelove, and he has Obama's number.

Black supportersd, such as Ludacris and Rev. Jeremiah Wright have already done goofy things.

Could be.... or he could continue to be incredibly cool and personable. I do hope his campaign continues to take something like the high road.... He survived Hilary.... who got pretty negative....

McCain will continue to sound shrill and desperate.....He already beginning to come off in a nasty little old lady Grandma McCain persona.. The negative adds are already costing him support.... And if Obama has Rev. Wright (hard to believe HE is going to campaign for him very hard) McCain will have that ugly right wing fringe supporters who he has never been very comfortable with...turning off voters. And they appear to be currently in charge of his campaign...

But who knows? Just waiting until November to see whether I will accept another job overseas....

Unfortunately, I'm not so confident about this part. There is enough class envy and stupidity in this country that this could be a winning tactic......Carney

I have been supporting Obama since he first started. But I heard something about him possibly doing slave reparations...which is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Why the hell do I have to pay you for work your ancestors did?

Let me guess: you heard it on Fox News.

umm is it just me or is a commecial about paris/obama/brittany about the dumbest thing you've ever seen? LOL

I understand he's trying to say that Obama is becoming a celebrity but(all presidential candidates are celebrities you dumbasses!)...for gods sake! This is crazy and today's only the first day of August! We have over 3 months of this madness to look forward to!

Well at least we'll get some comedy out of it! I just don't know if I'll be able to take it though.. god help us.

Or it could have been Meet The Press:

Obama on "Meet the Press," July 27, 2008: "The biggest problem that we have in terms of race relations, I think, is dealing with the legacy of past discrimination which has resulted in extreme disparities in terms of poverty, in terms of wealth and in terms of income. Our inner cities are a legacy of what happened in the past. And the question is less assigning blame or rooting out active racism, because that's not the reason that those inner cities are in such bad shape, but rather figuring out are we willing to make the investments to deal with that past history so we can move forward to a brighter future? And that involves investing in early childhood education, fixing the schools in those communities, being willing to work in terms of job retraining. And those are serious investments."

Oh yeah... in other words... "Slave Reperations...."

WTF??????

I gotta quarter that McCain has and or will make the same speech to the same constituency.

Yeah I heard it from a site like that. I was really hoping it was BS and it sure looks like it.

I just want to see the elimination of "faith based" initiatives and less tax write offs for religious groups. The only tax breaks that should be given for religion are for direct aid and food donations, not spreading there faith or buying private jets.

I also want to see actual money being pumped into education, but thats more of a problem with my state (Nevada). Its amazing how shitty the education is here.

You know, I can't really seem to get interested in either candidate. Does that mean something? Usually I have a general idea by election time who I want to vote for, but this time around, I can't see myself voting for either one. I'd vote for Obama if his ideas for economic growth weren't so unrealistic, even if I AM a registered republican. I find people who vote for their own party simply because it's their own party pretty silly, btw.

Anyway, McCain doesn't seem to have any solid ideas for the future either. I'm just too concerned by the candidates' lack of vision. With the way our country is going, and considering how much debt we're in with other countries, we need a leader who can deal with failing government programs that never worked, or were based on speculation and living in the past. We need a candidate who understands that part of being a capitalistic economy means having recessions every now and then, because it seems so many of our past presidents ignored that fact in the effort to please the generally ignorant populace. We can't grow forever. A downward slope has to come sometime, and the longer we prolong it, the worse it will be. Banks are closing left and right, and we're quickly heading toward a second great depression.

I'm sure it's not ALL the candidates' fault, however. The fact that most average Americans snored away their high school economics classes is the main cause of our problems.

And that's just looking at things from the economic standpoint. I don't even feel like getting into politics abroad and controversial topics like gay marriage and gun control. I just can't stand the jaded feeling I get when I see pundits talking about the candidates, or see debates involving them. I just don't want to watch.

It makes me dread going to the polls, you know? What incentive is there to vote in a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation?

True. McCain is well known...Captain Queeg. Obama is Pollyanna.

I dont want my fingerprints on either of them.

McCain will spend 4 years investigating everything and everyone. Obama will spend the time trying to get slave reparations for blacks, and generally bankrupt the middle-class. Whichever bum gets elected in 2008 will be sacked in 2012.

why obama might lose

i saw some interviews with white folks in a small tennessee town. almost all were convinced obama was a muslim. after all, it's a funny name, and the middle name is Hussein. estimates of whites who won't vote for obama, regardless, are on the order of 10-20 %.

the various right wing email campaigns are in full force, from "obama sympathizes with terrorists" to "obama hates our soldiers" "obama won't salute the flag." michele, of course is rosa luxembourg and angela davis. keeps an ak 47 in her closet for offing whitey.

so, we'll see, i guess. americans have been scared out of their liberties, due process, and so on. maybe they'll let coulter and her brown shirts install the next pres to--i love this-- "keep us safe."

by the way, here is the proof.

obama said,

"I consistently believe that when it comes to whether it's Native Americans or African-American issues or reparations, the most important thing for the U.S. government to do is not just offer words, but offer deeds."

see the rightwing commentator argue that this means 'slave reparations."

actually "deeds" could not only mean money, it could mean the ritual sacrifice of white children and grinding up their bones to make fertilizer for black folks gardens.

cute repug attack on obama as "The One"

McCain's attack ads???!! How about McCain's photo-op in the cheese aisle of a supermarket that was interrupted by an announcement for a blue-light special on sanitary napkins while Obama was sinking a 30-footer in front of the troops in Iraq? This guy is walking on fucking water while McCain is slogging through tar.

Maliki comes out and says he agrees with Obama's assessment of troop withdrawals for Iraq; Obama talks before 200,000 screaming fans in Germany, and the man hasn't even been nominated yet! You don't think McCain is scared shitless?

He has Obama's number like Bre'r Bear has Bre'r Rabbit's number. We are dealing with a bona fide political phenonenon here so pay attention.

I don't know that is a reference to reparations or not. It certainy could be. You all know that politicians often talk in code.

You do know, don't you, that those Germans won't be voting in the election. Hitler used to speak to even larger, screaming rowds.

It wasn't all that long ago that Obama was calling for an immediate withdrawl. Now, he is talking about leaving when the time is right. There is no difference between the opinions of the two candidates in that regard, except that McCain has always held that opinion.

Must be deliberate. He's baiting for "Regular Joe" sympathy.

It would be interesting, I think, to keep a list of all those armchair "pundits" here who declare Obama can't win--and index it to those (mostly same) folks who said here that he could never get the nomination--and then role out the list and publish it here on the second Wednesday in November.

You may have to add a month or two, depending on whether or not the Supreme Court manages to get involved. Perhaps that should be a topic for discussion - the odds of seeing another botched election.

The Supreme Court can't get involved unless we have just about exactly the same cliff hanger we had with Florida. It's (slightly) possible, but not likely. The Supreme Court can't go out and grab business like this.

Jesus, God.

Don't even SAY that.
