Jesus is our lord and savior

Jesus said, "The Way of the Prophets is a trail of tears. I have commissioned you to be prophets to this generation. Consequently, they will ridicule and revile you, saying all kinds of bad things about you. What? Don't you know that they have always rejected the prophets whom I have sent among them? Yes, I tell you the truth when I say that even those who follow the prophets do not understand them, for they speak of the things of the Spirit, which cannot be apprehended by the physical mind. The prophet is alone with the Eloheim, for of all mortals, it is he who sees the reality which he cannot convey to his people. Lonely is the Way of the prophet, but if he brings one soul one step closer to Light, all his loneliness and grief is justified, for great will be his joy in the heavenly realm, and he will become a great company at the seat of the Highest."
Danny, you work in a fucking gas station in Toronto. You're a loser.

Talking to a devout christian is like talking to a wall. It's a one way conversation

Debating with Christians is like playing chess with pigeons. They knock over all the pieces, shit all over the board, and fly away declaring victory.

Creation or Evolution

Science does not have all the answers if they did we would not ask so many questions, my view is a higher power of some sort knew what he/she was doing.

The Earth...its size is perfect. The Earth's size and corresponding gravity holds a thin layer of mostly nitrogen and oxygen gases, only extending about 50 miles above the Earth's surface. If Earth were smaller, an atmosphere would be impossible, like the planet Mercury. If Earth were larger, its atmosphere would contain free hydrogen, like Jupiter, Earth is the only known planet equipped with an atmosphere of the right mixture of gases to sustain plant, animal and human life.

Existence of God? The Earth is located the right distance from the sun. Consider the temperature swings we encounter, roughly -30 degrees to +120 degrees. If the Earth were any further away from the sun, we would all freeze. Any closer and we would burn up. Even a fractional variance in the Earth's position to the sun would make life on Earth impossible. The Earth remains this perfect distance from the sun while it rotates around the sun at a speed of nearly 67,000 mph. It is also rotating on its axis, allowing the entire surface of the Earth to be properly warmed and cooled every day.

And our moon is the perfect size and distance from the Earth for its gravitational pull. The moon creates important ocean tides and movement so ocean waters do not stagnate, and yet our massive oceans are restrained from spilling over across the continents.

It makes you wonder if all that is just pure luck..........

ask yourself why rory feels the need to beat me down because I am a christian, he has stated he is an atheist his only goal is to hate christains. jesus will return and rory will be left behind with all the others.

You're the one I read (and quoted) talking about beating someone, not Rory.

I know Ishmael. He's prolific on the GB. Sir, you are no Ishmael.

"Come now, let us reason together, saith the Lord."

That's one of my favorite verses in the Bible.

It's interesting how many times I've read, here and in other places, that only ignorant, deluded, non-intelligent, or desperate people lean to a God, and that is just pure ignorance.

I have never suffered from addictions. I have an above average education and am quite intelligent. I suffer from no psychological disorders. I'm healthy, and happy, I have a great career... in summary I'm a generally average, normal person. I can also write coherent, properly punctuated sentence, for those to whom such things matter. But I believe in God. I believe the Bible is true and inspired of God.

Throughout history, theistic scientists have contributed just as much, if not, more to the advancement of the scientific community than their counterparts. Newton? Einstein? Both very, very intelligent men and both heavily motivated by the belief in a creator, and there are many more. I could provide a list of individuals and their achievements for anyone curious enough.

I can't help but wonder how many of the naysayers here have really given any serious thought to the possibility of the existence of a creator, and conversely, how many are responding in robotic fashion with thoughts and philosophies that they have been programmed to think which, ironically enough, is the same thing an atheist would think of me, I suppose.

Do you feel you have reasonably excluded the possibility of a God? Or is it the actions and/or behavior of other people that made your mind up for you? Or have you jumped on the philosophical bandwagon of the age? What are your reasons? Do you know? Do you have any? Or is it just a la-di-da decision?

No matter how you look at it, here we are. How did this all come to be? Now, if you want to explain our existence but you limit that explanation to purely natural processes, then yeah, I guess it couldn't have happened by the will and word of a creator... we can't exactly put God into a laboratory. Even if we could, I'm not certain how keen he would be to undergo a process of experimentation. The thing is, if this wasn't all put here, then we wouldn't be here at all.

Matter cannot create itself... well, at the very least, it can't anymore. If it ever did, long ago and far away, then someone will need to explain to me how the natural universe could create itself and then form a natural law that contradicts its own existence? That's just not reasonable. Space, matter and time are a continuum (or, inter-dependent), and would have had to come into being simultaneously, and there is no other rational possibility (that I am aware of) that explains the how of it all, other than some type of external will or influence.

"In the beginning, God created the heaven and the earth."

You know, I'm perfectly ok with that. One way or another, everyone has a faith, and everyone has a religion. All of us. Either, in the beginning God, which is scientifically unprovable... or in the beginning helium, hydrogen, the gravity to bind it and the energy to spin it - out of nowhere, which is scientifically impossible.

There is a Creator folks, and there is a God, whether we choose to acknowledge that as a fact or not, and our co-existence with the Creator in this life is a relationship, whether we choose to acknowledge that relationship or not. The same is true as the relationship with our natural parents.. do you decide to never speak with them again once you have your life in your own control?

Anyways, I'm not trying to 'convert' anyone... if nothing else, we all have the right to believe what we wish, no matter how silly the belief may be. I am, however, always up for an intelligent discussion, to challenge and be challenged in return. No harm ever came from that, hey?

Come now, let us reason together.

Those quotes were from the Gnostic writings about Jesus, and not found in the Bible of any major religion.

It makes me wonder if Franklin has abandoned the Bible as a source.

And anyone who thinks that the earth is a stable and wholesome dwelling for life hasn't been paying much attention.

My lord and savior goes like this, comic books, manga, anime, cartoons, video games, Yup those are my religions.

A Supreme Being, certainly, but despite what both Franklin and Paul of Tarsus have thought, the existence of a Deity doesn't mean the God of the Bible, per se.

I worship a Supreme Being, but I call Him by His Persian name: Ahura-Mazda (Supreme Intelligence), Lord of Light. I have a Lord, but I call Him Mithras.

Let Christians worship Jesus of Nazareth. They have that right. But I have the right to worship an older Deity, one who preceded the Christian God by at least 1,200 years. I feel more secure that way.

I'm sorry to break it to you. But that's called 'strategy' ...the pigeon won ;)

Posts go on and this thread isn't a debate or statement or belief.
This is someone using a surefire way to get as many posts as possible and stir up trouble.

An attention bitch.

My love to all the real Christians out there ragged and bagging.

creator maybe.

Is there a creator of the universe? Maybe. The universe is both an orderly and chaotic place and may have been created by some universal entity, I don't know, time will tell. Does that creator then design humans so flawed that It gets mad and kicks them out to fend for them selves? Does It set up rules that make no sense after designing such a wonderful universe? Does it get upset by the showing of a woman's body, when it creates such wonderful and diverse landscapes and strange and unusual creatures?

Either the gods are weird, psychotic, paranoid, and childish with a sadistic bent or maybe they created it all and then went fishing. All the rest is a power play of man trying to control his fellow man and has no godly purpose.

Just my thoughts.

That's a different view of God. I don't think that He has such inane rules. But that's me. I'm not a member of a sexually puritanical cult.

2000-+ years of prayer

How many millions of prayers over the last 2000 + years and whats changed. Not a damn thing. Soooo either prayer does not work, nobody's home or the big father figure in the sky doesn't give a gd.

of course when a person has as much hate in the heart as you do it will never change for you. you have to surrender your life to the lord

O ye of little faith, and smaller minds. Of course, you will never learn. Holding little faith is not a mother of great dreams, and having smaller minds is not conducive to attaining wisdom. But still, in all cause-effect fairness, you must have a dream to dream, regardless of how meagre it be. So I now bestow upon you one that will penetrate to the very essence of your being, and paralyze you with it awesome reality. I am your god! For I am The
