I used to run into this double standard all the time when I was a skinny little shit. Right now, it's widely accepted as fair. (Which, of course, is bullshit.) Monique can put down every woman 130lbs and lighter, and it's fine. Real Women Have Curves isn't insulting to non-curvy women; it's empowering to heavy women. And so forth. Saying "You're skin and bones - eat something" is fine. Saying "You're overweight - go on a diet" gets you beaten down.

Most people don't do it to be mean. They do it because they're either too stupid to recognize the hypocrisy, or they think it's easy for slender people (also stupid).
