*nod* We're getting married at the end of August, but we're honeymooning next year (just too much going on right now)... so we'll have to think about it. :)

I loved the ASL welcome, Etoile!

:D That was the first thing I visited, and to my amazement, I understood most of it! *laughs*

Congraultions on getting the website up and running, hoping things will go well for you!

They say our languages are so different, but I find that I understand a lot of BSL too when I see videos on the web! My main clientele is Gallaudet University, so I had to do the ASL thing. ;)

I hope it goes well, too! We've got several people already interested.

I think that's just the way the island's shaped. You can't go OVER Cuba! I read a website that keeps track of "incidents at sea" and picking up refugees is almost never mentioned, and cruise ships sail that route every day of the year, so I don't think it's really to avoid Cuba, more just to not crash into Cuba. ;)

Umm. Doncha think that is because it is nearly impossible for Americans to legally go to Cuba? It wouldn't make sense for a ship full of Americans to stop in Cuba.

Now, as to the stupidity of our embargo, I'm with ya.

But cubas so nice, communist island paradise. I think the city that they allow foreigners into is on the opposite end of the island.

Our next stop cuba, please remember to bring your mine sweepers when crossing the beach.

[thread hijack] I've never understood why American people are OK with their goverment restricting their freedom of mobility. Ironic how the restriction of mobility was a trademark of 'communist' regimes. [/thread hijack]

Is this an open cruise or is it for lit only because my friend's employer is taking them on a cruise that has the same route on the same dates with the same schedule. I'm wondering if it is the same cruise. I live near Miami so it wouldn't surprise me.

Oh, this sounds exciting!
I don't know whether it would be concievable to get all three of us over there from Aus, but I can dream.
I'll ask nicely and see how it goes down.
KK.

You know, Etoile, I would join up, if I had more money, and more time to save up.... :(

But certainly will be up for the Europe thingie next Spring/Summer!

:D

* falls off of chair laughing deeeeep in his stomach./..ouch my face is turning red*

I was JUST thinking that!!!
Well...just before I read your post I was wondering if we have any sonar equipment for those pesky home-built life rafts we here in florida are ALWAYS encountering. Because I will NOT have my cruis ruined because they need to do an investigation as to WHY we ran one over.

( in a nasty bastard mood today...kinda cruel...but still only half the evil of other name brands )

Etoile,

How many open slots are there? What's the deadline for signing up?

I went on a cruise to Key West and Cozumel just a few years ago! Absolutely gorgeous! I am definately considering this.

There's no set number, and there's no deadline - although if you book after 11/6/08, you will have to pay for the whole thing at once.

When will the entire amount be due if reserved before November?

11/6/08 is the final payment date. Anytime before then, it's just a deposit of $150pp and then you pay the rest by 11/6/08.

Lordy... last time I did a cruise I was 18 years old... My passport is long expired...

I'm single, would probably be going solo. Anyone wanna be a bunky? ? ? Even more importantly, anyone traveling THROUGH South Carolina to get there want to carpool ? ? ?
