And the heat has hit...

Yesterday it hit 95F, today projected to 92F and 90's for the rest of the week predicted so far. Damn, went from nice weather to scorcher in the matter of a day

 that's scary. I don't like it too hot...take care &keep cool. :rose:

Yup well the A/C is on right now. Sadly though, not a stranger to high temps. It used to hit the 90's when I was in Jersey, and when I was stationed in South Carolina, saw quite a few days over 100F

It is incredibly humid here today. (You should see my hair.) Not too hot yet, but supposed to be in the 90s tomorrow.

Rather you than me, babe. I'd wilt, in fact on the rare occassions we get into the 90's I DO wilt. *L*

Hell, it's just startin' to get comfy. Those of us born and raised in, as John Barth put it, the "place 'twixt land and sea," don't even start to get warm 'til it's 95° F. (35° C.) with 90% humidity.

'n it's about time! I've been freezin' since at least September! I b'lieve I'll go out for a run.

SoCal Coasties are such weather wimps. We're only comfortable between about 70-75F. It's been like that for a week and looks to continue for another. After that, all bets are off. Good ol' AC!

Heh I've dealt with anywhere from -9F windchills to 130F w/ 90% humidity ambient temps...doesn't mean I like em though LOL

it's getting hawt in herrrre

here in tx has been in 90's...won't be too long until regularly in the hundreds...I hate the heat...and need a new ac dammit

...thus why I will never move to TX [that and I'd prolly get shot when wearing my Eagles stuff]

It's finally getting nice. All the way to June before we get any summer weather. I was starting to wonder if we'd be opening the pool at all this year.

It's still not warm enough for the a/c, but it's getting close. That's the beautiful thing about working overnights here....even when it's in the 90s during the day, it's rarely above the 70s at night (which is right where I like it).

We generally hit summer weather right after winter. We rarely get spring. (Well, most of winter sees spring temps). We're forecasted in the 90s all week, which usually means heat indexes around 100 or so.

Hunh...I've dealt with -30F wind chills to 130F with 90% humidity. I win. :D

You certainly do, Katyusha - I've only ever felt -22 F in person. That was without any winds blowing, mind you.

I've done -50F with no wind chill. When it's that cold, nothing moves.

Hottest I think is about 102. Doesn't usually hit that high in Toronto until late August if at all.

Same here, although we're usually a couple of degrees warmer than y'all. The big joke here is when someone says "I like spring and fall" to answer "both days?"

ain't that the truth, although i handle the cold well, robust stock and all that.

Hmmmmm,

It's been low 90's here for the past week or so and forecast to remain there for the next week. Of course there are things that need to be done around the place so I am outside in it most of the day. Today for example was the day to re-seal the roof.

Now this isn't hard to do, it just takes time and several gallons of sealant. (You paint it onto the roof and it cures into a hard rubberlike covering.) I was only up there for 4 hours, which was enough.

I was also outside doing woodworking today. 12 cable supports weremade in anticipation of putting in new Nor'Easter Cables tomorrow. (These supports are fairly wide and fit between as well as over the roof ribs. They not only keep the cables up off the roof but they spread the weight across more of the roof.)

I went through a lot of water today and sweat a lot. When I was done I came inside, skinned down and took a nice cold shower to cool off. Stepping out of the shower I found an Ice Cold Beer sitting on the bathroom counter waiting for me. Man did that taste good. (My wife had moved it from the fridge to the freezer for 20 minutes.)

Misery season is here.

Someday, I hope to live in a part of the world where a broken air conditioning system or a power outage is not a condemnation to Hell.

I lived through a summer in the Charleston, South Carolina area. Yes, the temperature sometimes got over 100 degrees however, there was one big advantage. In the summer you didn't need to drink water, there was so much humidity in the air, all you had to do was breath. I really miss the summers in South Carolina, every chance I get.
