Later today; June 5th, 2008; our country buries another one of our own.

This time, it is a dear friend of mine. We went to school together from kindergarten, all the way through college.

Spc. Kyle Phillip Norris will be laid to rest with full military honors; with a state funeral procession crossing over 150 miles lined from end to end with American Flags to show our love, friendship, and honor of him.

i wish everyone would please say a prayer for him and his family in this time of heroic sorrow.

We all, as a Nation; need to stand up and say "Enough Is Enough". For God's sake America, bring our Soldiers home alive NOW!

:( :rose:

Dear dove,

My condolences on the loss of your friend. I will not debate the wisdom or foolishness of using our military in far off lands to try to enforce a peace that the people who live there don't want. But I will honor and share my support for the soldiers who serve and put their lives on the line every day, and I will grieve for those who, like your friend, make the ultimate sacrifice.

My words of sympathy can be but cold comfort, dove, but I offer them as deeply felt as I know how. His loss makes us all the poorer. For what it is worth, I will keep you and his friends and family in my prayers.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss as I sit in our nations capitol today and I try to fight for our battles for mental illness I heard our country is trying to bring our soliders home to only find out the loss of the your dear friend when I returned to my hotel tonight.. I am truly sorry for your loss I will pray for you, your family, his family and everyone who he touched in his short life... My thoughts and prayers go out to you ..

I ache for your loss, dear one. No words will ever be enough to heal the scars of war.

i would like to thank you all for the prayers and kind words for Kyle and his family.

The funeral was over 2 hours long; with speakers from the military, the state, and a lot of his friends and family speaking.

As we all got into line up, we found out; with all the military vehicles, police, and veteran biker groups involved; the procession was over 4 miles long.

Every town we went through, had decorated their streets. People were everywhere, saluting as we passed.

The most touching thing to me, was that in 3 different towns; the fire trucks had set up to form a ladder arch, with the American Flag hanging from the top; for us to pass through.

So touching, but yet; so sad.

Once again, thank you all.:rose:

Thank You, EG. Your words bring a calming element to me.

i know it wasn't the best thing to do, bitching at our government about our soldiers. But i had to let the anger out in some way before dealing with the reality of facing his parents, and being there; amongst the military "higher ups". Or i would have started ranting then, and that wouldn't have been respectful to Kyle at all.

Thank you.:rose:

Thoughts and prayers go out to him, his family and his friends.

Dove,

My hope for you is that your elections will bring about the same changes as ours did in Australia.
This week, they pulled our troupes out. about bloody time.
Thankyou Mr Rudd.

Good luck to all of you waiting to bring loved ones home, Vote with heads and your hearts.

I'm so sorry to hear of yet another tragic death. Condolences to you and all of his friends and family.
