So today we were doing some shopping a bit early, we were picking up some things for the place. We wanted some lumber to make planters and some cables to help anchor the Trailer in high winds. We made our purchases and were walking back towards the front of the store when I found a pair of work gloves that actually fit me. (I have small hands.) I grabbed these and fell in love with them. A bit pricey at $18.00 but very comfortable.

So we paid for the purchases and were heading out with everything on a cart. It was hot and humid and we were sweating just walking across the parking lot. We loaded the car and then I surprised my wife. I headed back towards the store exit while telling her to go ahead and start the car. I had seen something I wanted.

There by the exit was a stand with a woman selling such things like Hot Dogs and cold Soda. I made my buy and back to the car I went. My wife looked at the bag in my hand in confusion until I opened it. Philly Dogs and Cold Soda. (Hey I was hungry.) My wife has never had a Philly but she was game and tried one. Oh did she love that. We both had two and talk about hitting the spot. (Too bad anyone down wind tomorrow will be paying for it.)

When we got home we started working. My wife started in on the overgrown flower bed in front of the trailer. She was cutting everything out so I can go in and rip out the roots. Then we'll put in a planter there with Roses. I meanwhile was raking up another load of Pine Needles. Hot and dusty work. About halfway through my wife called me over to look at something she had found. When I looked I saw a bug I had never seen before. It took me a bit of investigating before I found it. The blasted thing was one of the strangest and neatest looking spiders I have ever seen. It's called a Spiny Orb Weaver. Truly strange little critter. I moved it off to the side and we went back to work.

So now I'm sitting here staring at the computer screen and thinking about getting dinner ready. Skirt Steak marinated in Mojo accompanied by Garlic Bread and Mixed Veggies.

So how was your day?

*smile* Hello again, Mr. Cat.

Thanks for asking!

Busy. Got to sleep in a little, woke at 6. The bath thing, my emotional coffee.

Breakfast at 7-11, a pizza sib with the bright orange quasi meat taken out. The clerk was appreciative that I had the dime so he didn't have to make change.

Quick drive to the hospital. Mom's been doing the TIA thing, sorta stroke, but not permanent. She was supposed to be in overnight and it's been almost a week with no communication to me, her medical go-to, from the hospital doc.

I had taken the morning off. I was going to park my butt until I got answers.

Had a little visit with Mom and her roomie, roomie had a real stroke, but was quite bright and alert. She thanked me for the flowers I brought her yesterday. We have all kinds of iris in our garden, they don't smell, and Mom was getting some anyway - it's just what I do. Made tea for the ladies, no doc. *sigh*

Quick trip back to my home to take puppybaby to the vet. Turns out vet's mom is in the hospital for stroke too. Shared stories. Perved on the vet - a little. Automatic reaction. Bought ridiculously expensive home made doggie cookie and supported some charity. Got puppy meds and took PB home, administered meds to her and her bro, back to the hospital.

More tea and visiting with the ladies and finally doc came. Got answers.

Drove 40 minutes to work.

Wrote huge emails to update everyone on Mom's situation, called my bro, my husband, my other bro.

Took three calls for info re: Mom's care.

While working.

Still have to see a 'tard (my son's father) at a notary republic to sign a paper. Three hour visit with my son, and TLC for hubby when I get hoime.

In a word - busy.

There's something endearing watching an ethnically mixed (boy are they mixed!) bunch of kids chow down on each other's cultural delicacies. Best of all was watching one of my African-American kids eat half a jar of kim-chi!

Was this traditional Kimchee with the Hot Peppers or was it the commercial one?

Yes watching kids eat the foods of others is fun. Hell my eating the foods of other cultures is fun, not to mention tasty as hell.

Is this what you found, Cat? Cause yeah, they're cool.

My day was quiet. Didn't go out. It's dark, overcast and a bit breezy. Feel's mor like late April than early June.

Yep that's the little beast. Like I said kind of a neat critter. I have seen plenty of spiders down here including some beautiful ones like the Jade but I have never seen this one.

I would have loved to stay in because of the weather but I never seem to have that option.

It was commercial but it was plenty hot. We have a very large Korean community along with our Chinese, Japanese, Phillipine, Vietnamese and Cambodian communities and they all shop at the 99 Ranch chain of markets. The food there is very authentic. Good, hot, garlicky, vinegary stuff over rice. mmmm-mm!

Nothing wrong with Kimchee. Nor is there anything wrong with Muoc Mam.

I watched polyurethane dry. Just about as exciting as paint, but much quicker.
