Just thought I'd bring this to your attention. There is a program created by the University of Berkley-California available to the public. What it does, is it uses your computers idle capacity to do work for companies/universities in compiling information for large projects. For those of you familiar with the SETI@home project of the 90's, this is where it landed and is of the same concept.
Current projects include; mapping proteins to better understand and cure viruses and cancer, mapping the universe, SETI, and discovering pulsars.
Just thought I'd throw this out there in case anyone was interested. I've been running this for 2 years now myself.
