Just thought I'd bring this to your attention. There is a program created by the University of Berkley-California available to the public. What it does, is it uses your computers idle capacity to do work for companies/universities in compiling information for large projects. For those of you familiar with the SETI@home project of the 90's, this is where it landed and is of the same concept.
Current projects include; mapping proteins to better understand and cure viruses and cancer, mapping the universe, SETI, and discovering pulsars.

Just thought I'd throw this out there in case anyone was interested. I've been running this for 2 years now myself.

I've been rnning it on and off for about four years (on or off depending on current state of health of computer :eek:)

I mentioned it myself on these boards about a year ago and the silence was deafening ;)

LOL yea noticed that. Figured I'd just toss it up if anyone was into something like that

That's because everybody's computer is tied up with p2p file sharing, downloading porn and music files.
 
LOL I do that and still run boinc. Heh and my laptop is almost 3yrs old

Why Jag, are you trying to impress the ladies with your prodigious memory and massive hard drive? :cool:
