Thank you, Cloudy. I thought you might.

Voted.

(I didn't leave a PC because I think that will cancel out a vote.)

Love it!

:D

I also didn't leave a comment, for the same reason. :DHowever, I think of myself as the first kind of author you describe. I have competed in the Survivor Contest for six years now, since 2003, and have never won any money, although I have won Amazon gift certificates since they were offered. :D

As far as I am concerned, the contest is a way to write smut in a variety of ways and to enjoy a certain amount of camaraderie with other contestants. I don't take it all that seriously, and try to avoid submitting crap, just to fill categories. I do, however, recognize the unpleasant competitors you write about. :(

Nice. :D

Writers as a group tend to have over-blown egos anyway. They need the occasional deflation.

Thanks, guys

I don't expect everyone's response to be as positive as yours has been. I feel kinda like Haiti... waiting for the impending hurricane to strike. LOL

The ugly response will come soon enough *laugh* Voted but didn't comment as well. I'm still leery of my votes vanishing if I make a comment too. The Lit Hoover has gone a little rogue, I believe.

At least two of the off-the-meds-ones are sure to start railing in due time. :D

Thanks

Thank you. So far, so good. Even "Anonymous" gave me a positive comment. It must be an imposter. LOL

Maybe, just mabe, I can come out from hiding behind this tree.

You didn't actually name anybody, but I think most of us know who you meant. If you HAD named them, they would probably be out now, ranting and raving. It's entirely possible that they have so little self-awareness that they do not recognize themselves.

Alienated Authors? Alienated Authors?

First of all, the grammatically correct term would be Alien-eaten authors. Second, we don't eat authors. At least not in the sense that you're thinking of. And in the sense that I'm thinking of, we wouldn't get anywhere near those particular authors.

The speciesism of this site is astonishing. Sigh.

Oh, he's seen it. He seems to be taking it as a compliment.

I'm going to eat your olive, Marsh. :p

Oh, well. Delusions run deep.

Funny, I haven't heard anything from the writer who I thought would use it to fuel one of his typical tirades. Well, he keeps himself pretty busy in his land of make believe, so I'm probably safe from him anyway.
