Gay Marriage Champaigne Celebration Thread

I brought paper cups and straws. Pass the bubbly!

:nana:

Oh - and I brought a caveat: the likely use of California's good news to fuel another election-year wave of right-wing homophobia. But we can serve that later.

Yeah, duh. This is the champaign thread, the caveat thread is elsewhere. Drink up, babe, forget your sorrows!

I'll raise a flute of Dom P. in celebration.

Common sense and compassion hold sway for once. Huzzah! :D

Whoooooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Yeah!

They are also available in some parts of Argentina, Brazil (Rio Grande do Sul), Mexico, the U.S. states of California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Vermont, Washington state, and the District of Columbia (Washington, D.C.).

I thought Vermont did the Civil Union thing...At the very least the states above recognize Gay Marraige, albeit under the term Civil Union but it's still recognized at the very least. Hubby works for the state and now that they pay $25 every two weeks for health insurance it is now in the state union workers contracts that Civil Unions will be recognized for insurance purposes and such even if they don't or can't get married in the state which is definitely a step in the right direction.

Map of which states recognize or allow Civil Unions or Same sex Marraige...

Go Ellen and Portia!

im straight as an arrow, but i am firmly on the side of gay marriage, in the words of lois griffin "two straight people who hate each other can get married but not two gay people who love each other?"

addendum:
FREE BEER!!! Drink up, in the immortal words of good ol' ben franklin "beer is proof that god loves us and wants us to be happy"
