Ok, so last time I asked for advice, I got tons of good suggestions. Here's my latest quandry ~
Today I met my dad for a quick lunch downtown at a little counter-service place in the train station. We were in line for sandwiches made on the spot by a very helpful, very hot Italian guy who I've seen there a couple of times. It's obvious he likes what he does and he's a people person. It's also quite obvious he's got a stake in the place - he just cares too much, plus after our interaction he told a couple guys working there what to do, somewhat for my benefit, I hope.
Anyways, so as he was making my sandwich, I started to flirt a bit, asking him why there wasn't anything Italian on the menu. He told me he was Italian and that was enough and then guessed from me and my dad's appearance and the fact we were speaking Spanish to each other that we were Argentine. Nope. Peruvian I said.
He told me his ex-gf was Peruvian but had left him and then he expounded on his love of Peruvian food and told me how he made the best Lomo Saltado. By now he was making my dad's sandwich, and my poor dad was trying to tell him what kind of cheese he wanted, but my bambino was not listening.
I asked him if he knew how to make Papa a la Huancaina, a really good potato dish served cold which includes this super spicy, complicated cheese sauce, and he said no, that he had been told several recipes but had given up because it was just too many ingredients. He made sure to tell me he could really cook, though.
So then I told him I'd bring him my recipe next time I came around and that it was a simplified version with just a few ingredients. He perked up and said sure.
So here's the question, what do I include with the recipe, other than my phone number? I was thinking of maybe saying "Call me if you have any questions" or maybe "Call me if you want any more recipes" or "Call me if you want to go to a good Peruvian restaurant."
I don't want to offer to cook for him. Too soon. Also, I hardly ever pick up my phone, so should I tell him to make sure to leave a message or is that just too much? Hahahhaahah. Discuss....
