Let's keep this simple people.
What is the essence of a Master/slave relationship?
The slave doing anything the Master says, correct?
Correct.
On the most brutally simplistic of terms, is this not what it boils down to?
And yet, little girls all too happy to call themselves "slaves" are constantly refusing commands, on the basis of "I can't."
Sit down children, let me tell you a story. Earlier in the decade, when your boy Marquis first hit the job market, it was very hip for top employers to ask inane questions with the goal of seeing a person's thought process and problem solving ability.
The most famous of these questions being, "Why are manhole covers round?" A question that apparently has no answer, but has been pontificated upon by brainiacs worldwide nonetheless.
You know what they call this, in the corporate world?
RESOURCEFULNESS!!!
Can you imagine, your resume is flawless, your presentation, outstanding. Then you are asked, "What is the internal cabin volume of a 747?"
And you say....
"How should I know! I can't do that!"
You're done, son.
What the employee is now hearing is...
"I am not an asset. I am a liability. I choke in pressured situations and will blame you for my failures."
Let me tell you a secret. Master's know that slaves are not capable of doing anything and everything we want. We know that there are some things you are not capable of, for any number of reasons. But we want to see you try.
In fact, the stupider you look trying, the more satisfied we are likely to be.
Counter-intuitive, eh?
Well, now you know.
Each one, teach one.
