I’m on the hunt for a volunteer Editor

FYI I a have found a VE who has done a fantastic job re-editing my first chapter... I hope he will continue to edit my writing in the future. But to all of you who have sent PM's or left posts... thank you for your kind offers. Man, you VE's are great!

I don’t know how realistic this is… but I am hoping to find and editor to work with on a series that I’ve only just started. I am a pretty loyal person and I tend to only have ‘one’ of everything… 1 Doctor, 1 Hairdresser, 1 Mechanic, 1 Dentist and so on. Now I’m on the search for that 1 fantastic Editor

In saying all of that I had the urge to submit my first chapter last weekend and I ended up asking a reader who is pretty savvy at detecting spelling and punctuation errors to give it the once over for me. So, it’s been submitted - I’ll leave the link below. I am hoping that if you offer to be my VE you will give me some direct feedback on the piece before I finish off the second chapter.

And now, for a bit of babble…

I’m passionate about writing but I’ve only been dabbling in it for the last 6 months. I don’t have a large output, so I won’t overburden you. I do sometimes struggle with confidence and belief in ‘my voice’ (part of the reason why I don’t churn out the stories). My aim is to produce a new chapter every week and a half to two weeks. Errors in spelling and punctuation are my main areas of concern… possibly grammar.

I have no idea how this works… but I would love to work with a VE who will point out my errors and leave them for me to fix or at least let me know what I’ve done wrong, so I can work on it. It would also be great if he/she could give me good constructive criticism about elements of the story and in turn would not be offended if I choose to take my own path.

To date, I have only submitted 4 stories on Lit. If you happen to take interest in my plea and read them, please be aware that ‘Katarina – a beginning’ is the series I have just begun. The other 3 stories are the first stories I wrote as an adult… they really are just strokers/flickers. I am capable of much bigger things (I hope). Lol.

I'm a new editor, but am eagar to get involved with somebody. Check my profile out, and see what you think. I am very articulate, very good with spelling, abbreviation, and sentence/paragraph structure. I have been reading stories at this site for quite some time, and it has always bothered me to see a great story that is poorly put together. It takes away from the story, in my view.

Tell me more about what you expect from an editor. I have some published stories in Group Sex and am working on a novel I wrote for NaNoWriMo. I'll have time this summer (your winter), starting now. I'm a VE and have edited over a dozen stories. It would be interesting to be an editor for just one author. I'm also a grammar Nazi.
