Ok, so on another site I used to frequent, we could manipulate the site in a way so that we could post anonymously if we chose. With that knowledge, we would often create conversations where we would make anonymous posts about things on our minds (in a public setting) without anyone knowing who said what. It was a great vent and release valve for the site. Some times these conversations caused drama, sometimes they relieved it. At any rate, these conversations were often the most popular on the site. So I thought, why not try something like that here?

The only problem is that vBulletin cannot be manipulated is such a way to allow for anonymous posts. So how do we create such an outlet for us while still allowing for anonymity? My solution is to have a general account where anyone can have access to post anonymously in this thread the things on their mind they don't want others to know they are thinking. (did that make sense?)

I'm with Fi and nikki on this and would say take this idea to the general board or drop it. (Well I have another option that begins with s but won't post it.) We're adults here and there is plenty of room here for open disagreements. If you don't have the stones to put your name to a conversation here then take it somewhere else.

Given the subjects here and how much trust it takes to be part of a D/s or PYL/pyl relationship I would have to ignore a thread like this.

I have to say that I've considered getting an alt, and can see why some people do. The problem with being the queen of fluff is that when I'm serious I tend to be ignored. Once or twice I've considered getting an alt, just so that I can talk about something serious. The only reason I didn't was cause I KNOW I'd forget which one I was signed in as and give myself away. *shrugs*

I have an alt I used to "check out" what was happening here before I "officially" came back. Haven't signed in as him/her/it in months and months. Not sure I remember what the password is.

As far as posting anonymously ... meh. If I don't believe in a point of view enough to "own it," I'm not gonna post it. If I do, then it's gonna come in under my name so people can know - from their own perspective and past experience reading my posts and agreeing or disagreeing - how much weight to give to what I say.

I can understand that there may be the odd time when something may be incredibly sensitive and the poster may not want to be identified, but I am sure there are other ways round a situation like that.
