strange rejection

I am one of the volunteer editors, and an author recently wrote me about a story that was rejected for "excessive violence." It is strange because it has basically NO violence at all. It is non-consent. A patient is sedated by her doctor, who then takes advantage of her while she is out. The author takes care to point out that all participants are over 18, as well. I just don't see why it was rejected. It is far, far less violent that the average in non-consent.

The author even tried resubmitting it under a different name, thinking it might have been a mistake. Same result. Has anyone else had this sore of wierd, unexplainable rejection? I don't know what to advise her at this point.

my last submission was rejected four times because the punctuation wasn't in the quote marks at the end of the dialogue. It was, so I emailed the help contact and then it just appeared a couple of days later. I think they sometimes get robots to do the 'reading' and posting after submission

Rejection

I just had a story rejected because of improper placing of quotatin marks and punctuation. I proof read the story and couldn't find any mistakes. I resubmitted the story so we'll see what happens.

Does she positively enjoy what he does/did to her by the end of the story? That seems to be the criterion for accepting N-C/R stories.

proofreading your own work is (most of the time) and exercise in futility, not to mention a huge waste of time.

As authors, we're too close to it to spot mistakes. If it gets rejected again, I'd be glad to look it over for you.

If they reject my last submission
of a truly original story it'll probably be because one comma is out
somewhere,or because truly original(Too fetish exotic) literature is perhaps not desired
on this site as much as it should be.
Perhaps because it doesn't quite fit the status quo.

Don't mind me I'm just slightly frustrated tonight.

Peace and Love to everybody!

Not hardly.

I think that every author has had at least one story rejected at one time or another. Its really hard to admit that we're not perfect, but we're not. And I'd much rather they catch something that I let slip by me than have something posted that's going to embarrass me when I see it.

I had one particular story rejected three times because I'd written a good bit of it in Creole, and the auto-spellchecker just kept spitting it out.

I PM'd Laurel (never email, it will get ignored) about the problems I was having, and she checked it herself.

It wound up winning the Halloween contest that year, and has since been pulled for publication.

Just goes to show: keep trying. :)

My apologies.I don't have a chip on my shoulder or anything.
It's just it is a long task submitting stories to Literotica.I've
only submited one,so I don't know how things work.
They are the ones who are quality experts and not me.
Besides,I enjoy reading other stories here
other than the drivel I've written anyway.

Yea, I've given up on this site. Four times I've tried to get my latest submission accepted, each time it came back saying something was wrong with the punctuation. To add insult to injury they now want me to 'get my characters to talk'; since each one of my submissions is a kind of blog on my life, the text may be dreary but highly factual.

Also reading the acceptance script for any submission poor spelling, punctuation and grammar would normally be cause for rejection. Bullshit, have you read some of the stories lately a few examples I've seen are:- hart 4 heart, thy 4 thigh, hare 4 hair and qwilt 4 quilt; there are lots of others but as I said I've lost interest in submitting to this site.
