Ropework photos

Yes, she is, thank you.

Oh, wait, you mean the hemp? It's not bad, but th eneck it is resting on is the gorgeous part of the photo to my eyes.

The hemp is made more beautiful by the neck it rests on.

P.S. You are too cute right now :D

Oh geeze, don't say stuff like that!:eek::eek:

I'm going to have to be mean, grumpy, and snide to make up for this.

Homburg is cute, Homburg is cute, Homburg is cute, Homburg is cute, Homburg is cute, Homburg is cute, Homburg is cute, Homburg is cute, Homburg is cute, Homburg is cuuuuuuuuute!

They both have leather collars for scenes, and sleeping when possible, but I did not make those. My leatherworking skills are marginal. I can shorten things, change out buckles, dye, etc, but I'm never really happy with the product when I make it top to bottom. I get along with hemp ever so much better.

he's short changing himself. dont listen to him. no, he didnt make my leather collar, but hi _did_ make my leather cuff which i sleep in as well.

came to this from the beginning so I'm kinda rehashing.

Absolutely lovely ropework and I love the fact you are ceremonial about it. It really makes a difference I think. Regarding photos, try to either use natural light or if you have to use artificial, light from one side. Use a tripod to avoid camera shake. The shadows on rope and skin look amazing. I like to convert them to B&W if they aren't done on film.

Now, as I've found a den of experts here, a question. I've heard that breast bondage should be practised with care for medical reasons. I love shinju and can't imagine it having the same effect if you can stick a finger between rope and skin as was recommended on nawa shibari dojo. Any thoughts?

By the way, I forgot to ask if you are allergic to sterling silver? MIS has sensitive skin, and sterling is what I use exclusively.

i have not tried wearing any of my sterling or gold jewelry since my hysterectomy. Growing up i was sensitive but not allergic to either sterling or 14kt gold but became so after getting pregnant the first time. i have one gold wedding band that doesn't bother me, everything else does including engagement ring which was not part of a set. One of these days i'll drag my jewelry out again and see if i'm able to wear it now since i expect the problem is\was hormonal

Way not an expert in anything but standing with my hands behind my head but as far as breast bondage goes i think that was only the 3rd time we did the cupcake tie and will most likely be the last. i love that i am losing weight but the breasts have been the first to go and it just doesn't look as dramatic as it did a couple months back. i haven't noticed any detrimental effects but i can say i would NOT be satisfied if you could stick a finger between the rope and the skin. We've never left it on for more than around 30 minutes. If my PYL was one who was really into that tie as some are and wanted to do it frequently and leave on for extended periods i would probably be inclined to do more research especially if they wanted to tie it so tight that circulation was restricted (and many do).

Thanks for the compliments. Unfortunately, natural light is almost never possible, as I tend to do my tying at night. Artificial light from the side is my best bet, but I really have no clue how to set that up. The only strong lighting I have is a halogen. That's pretty harsh light from what I recall.

I do it as a matter of course. The rope can be tight and still be able to put a finger between the ropes and the skin. Just depends on how you tie it. And those are just safety guidelines. It's your body, do as you will.

I will say that circulation is MUCH less of a concern than nerve damage when it comes to tight ropes.

Homburg, I follow you and some others mostly silent recently but I dare to tiptoe in and give my humble two cents to the "cute-conflict" :D :

You appear so very warm and very human and tender these last weeks... It's touching, heart-warming and uplifting. :)

That you are quite a bit uneasy or embarrassed about showing yourself here like that (expressed through:  ), that is what makes it "cuuuute" for us girls...

I hope I didn't do wrong by speaking in the name of "us girls"...

So, you are cute! :p

The weather. It's been, uh, particularly weathery. The rain has been really rainy. Totally the weather.

....

Okay, maybe it has something to do with a pair of collars around the necks of these two incredible ladies in my life. But, y'know, just maybe
